I am now taking sign-ups for a new planetary league that will be launched no later than March 9th. The league is nearly ready so now is your chance to reserve a spot as a canon unit. If you do not sign up during this pre-release period you will still be able to enter the league.

To reserve your spot, register here (only 1 account per team please):
http://proxis.midgar...wo/register.php
and post in this thread the name of your account along with the name of the canon unit your team will represent.
*Please understand that start locations for canon units are limited and we will do our best to find the best fit for your unit.
**It will speed up the process greatly if you include "I am registering for Proxis League" in your mwo account status. This helps to eliminate fraud.
***You need to provide 8 links to mwo profiles for your roster. This is only to ensure that you have at least 8 pilots and does not determine who can represent your team in-game.

*The map is not finished, but only a sample

What is this league?
This league is a planetary conquest of unique planets and mech factories involving house factions, invading clans, mercenary corps, and pirate raiders. Set in an abridged canonical map, it aims to provide a fair and balanced setup with a wide variety of match-ups. With different starting resources, limited mech production, and unique planet conditions, you will find your team in all kinds of matches.

Teams will start with with one planet, one dropship, some c-bills and some pilots. From there you can venture out and conquer the known universe! For more info on the different unit types see:
http://proxis.midgardmc.eu/mwo/faq.php

Disclaimer: This is not an official PGI site. This was made by me. I hope it helps keep people interested until community warfare comes out.

Good for people to support the competitive nature of MWO.

Player 1 sends a dropship with pilots and mechs in it to an enemy planet and attacks it.
Player 1 enters the mechs he's going to use (from his dropship)
Player 2 gets a notification he must respond to within 4 days or forfiet. He enters his mechs he will use from that planet.
Both players see what mechs the other is taking and have 7 days to play the match, otherwise it's a tie (attrition)
Once the match has been played one of the players submits to the site who won and what mechs were lost.
The other player sees the report and either agrees or an admin settles the dispute.

I still don't get it but, tbh, may as well jump on in ;)

I'm sure it will all become clear as it goes along :D

So long as you can find a time to play with the other unit within a week of the attack, then it shouldn't be a problem.

If you want to split into 2 separate units and have 2 teams that are allied, that is fine.

So how will people actually play against each other though with the random drops?
They'd have to dedicate hours and hours to actually line up a match against each other?

Not true. We've actually had a lot of success sync dropping 8s, especially if you have a group of 8 go in ahead of the 2 competing groups to clear out anyone that might be waiting in the queue.

It looks really awesome, but what is the plan for a situation where Team X has a Spider, two Commandos, three Awesomes and two Dragons and no one on the team owns any of those mechs in Mechwarrior Online?

Some teams will have lots of players to cover this, and some will have uber-wealthy members that can buy whatever is required, but there's bound to be some issues.
