So there I am on Frozen in my Trebuchet. I make a run through the tunnel and come up against... A COMMANDO! I chase him out of the tunnel and down to the ground below (able to retreat back with my jump jets if need be).

Luckily, it's just him, so we begin to duel one another. Well, long story short, after about 15+ alphas and not doing more than about 3-5% damage to him, I call it quits and let him know via comms "Just kill me Commando, I can't register a damn shot on you".

At first he doesn't trust me, he's running around me still, firing constantly on me, every shot registering proper levels of damage on me. I sit there watching my damage rise higher and higher as he does loops around me. I've pretty much given up at this point (as that has been happening a lot lately)

So after my constantly looking at this Commando, he stops and realizes that I'm not going to fire back (why add to the frustration?) As he brings me near death all of a sudden he EXPLODES as a team Atlas moved forward through the ridge and killed the thing in 1 shot.

From an irony standpoint, it's kind of funny that I fell into one of my "To ******* hell with even TRYING to register damage on these things" modes (which to this date and ALWAYS resulted in my death) only to have a teammate not suffering from any such bad luck off the guy in a single blow.

Any funny stories on your end?

I remember this one time a spider 5v (last alive) killed off 6 guys and won the match for the team. It was intense.

I was defending the upper base in river city, moving along the edge of the trench in my hunchback when an enemy boomkitty blew me to pieces. The death video was right out of the "this is Sparta!" part of 300. Even I had to laugh.

Too bad it wasn't a Centurion. ;)

In my commando I was harassing a catapault that finally shut down while trying to hit me. I kept shooting at it, but saw some more enemy approaching. I hit full reverse, turned hard, hit full forward and BOOM orion0117 has killed orion0117. I was still near enough I know the cat saw it happen, and I'm sure he had a good laugh.

I was in an earless splatapult trying to get enemies to shoot at me (distraction was all I had left) and I jumped and landed ontop of an enemy atlas. I stayed up there for 20 seconds before I slid off. I was able to get in "DUDE! I'm ON YOUR HEAD" and "DEATH FROM ABOVE!" while I was going for the ride. (Cooperative mech stacking is one thing, but on the enemy - priceless)

Killed a spider at the top of the ridge in frozen city with what I assume had to be an ammo explosion while jumping because he launched forward off the ridge at phenomenal speed. My whole team was circled up and chatting "DID YOU SEE THAT SPIDER ROCKET!"

I was in a Commando 2D playing Caustic Valley Conquest. Both sides met each other, so after providing a little support I decided to bug out and start capping. As I reach kappa, I ask the team who is alive. Their answer was "you". They then began to offer me consolation, through information that "they only have a few Atlases" and "none of them have ecm". After capping a little more, I ended up brawling with a cataphract at epsilon. It only had 2 Autocannons so I was eventually able to take it down. We lost the match though.

Its probably a bug/glitch, but I love it when mechs rag-doll after being killed. I was playing river city today and a dragon was crossing the bridge as our team moved in, somebody sniped him off, but he spazzed out the whole way down and belly flopped in the river, I had a good chuckle.

I've also witnessed mechs cartwheel mid air after hitting the jump jets and getting killed, those are always funny to see.

I was in my Cicada3C on Caustic I thought i'd make a drive by across on the other team, I appeared over the ridge and the Entire enemy team was there, and before I could turn back, a Dragon blew off my leg, my initial thought was "Well F*** I'm dead" 5minutes later I couldn't believe I was alive, as soon as I thought that an enemy raven danced around me until we both fell over.

Sounds awesomely similar to something that happened to me, awesome enough for me to write a post about it... a long one.

There's just something about exploding commandos. It's so satisfying.

Quite a while back, I was playing in a game on caustic in my trusty triple-srm6 centurion-A. We had started out in the base with the buildings, and it was only after pushing forward and standing in the usual spot on the slopes of the mountain for a couple minutes without seeing anything that a light discovered that they were rushing through the 3 line. Our team turned around, and a large brawl ensued among the buildings of our base, including quite a bit of fighting right on our cap point.

After a few minutes our team came out on top, with 3 mechs remaining including me. The last enemy mech, however, was nowhere to be found. Since our base had been capped down to about half by their initial rush, when my assault mech teammates headed off to cap I decided to stay behind and guard it in case the last enemy circled back. Standing on the base and looking around to decide what bit of cover I should lurk behind, my gaze fell on the disco'd friendly hunchback standing just outside the square, and I got an idea.

There were 3 or 4 dead mech corpses scattered around that immediate area, and I saw that one of them was slumped over against a tank just outside the square, on the side opposite the hunchback. I walked my centurion over on top of the corpse, standing amidst the smoke with my back to the tank and facing towards the cap and my disco'd teammate, and shut down. I can barely see through the smoke so I figure it ought to be hard to tell I'm actually alive, and adding to the illusion is the fact that my cent is missing both arms - though I still have all of my weapons. One of my dead teammates compliments me on my idea, but notes that he doesn't think it'll pay off.

A minute or so passes as my teammates plod their slow mechs across the map, and then I hear footsteps. Through the smoke I can see a cicada walk onto the cap. He looks around, gaze passing right over me, and then turns away from me and starts plinking at the disco'd hunchback with his lasers. My chat erupts with messages along the lines of 'OMG' and 'wow, get him!', and I power up and slowly ease out of the smoke, laying my crosshairs over his back. He's trailing smoke, and as I target him I see that he's lost a lot of armor across his various torsos. I ease towards him, hoping to get to point blank range but ready to shoot instantly if he notices me. My teammates are yelling at me to just shoot, but amazingly he somehow fails to hear my footsteps (or notice that his cap has stopped) as I walk right up behind him and stop not ten meters away. As he continues to carve the limbs off my unwitting bait, I carefully place my crosshairs directly over the center of his back.

FIZZ-WHOOSH-KER-BLAM! Cicada pieces everywhere! :D I almost fell out of my chair laughing.

I was playing on Frozen City and there was one Commando on the enemy team that flew right out into the battlefield alone. As he was getting shot by my teammates, I locked my 2 LRM5s I had on my Stalker and shot at him, he had run head first into a wall, with his back facing my entire team. I shot and cored him from the back, no problem. He continued to call me a hacker in broken English for the rest of the map, saying there was no way I could've seen him, when he crashed into a wall 200m away from me with his back turned to me.
