If you're trying to say 'Hey, hey, it's cool, you're learning by losing all the time, don't worry about it,' then kindly punch yourself in whatever reproductive organs you have. You seem like a nice enough person, but that argument leads people to elitism and tolerating a bad product.

I am not saying you shouldn't worry about it, I'm not saying it is okay to lose. I'm arguing the fact that for those who don't take advantage of the items, they are the ones who are forced to adapt to a real battlefield and find counters for mechs with outrageous advantages themselves, so when the netcode is fixed, streaks are maybe fixed and ECM is maybe fixed, they will be the truly skilled pilots leaving Streak and ECM reliant pilots at a disadvantage.

tbh I thought this would be a hypothetical like "there is a light mech guarding the end of a tunnel. you have a half pound of C-4, a stick of gum, and a pair of sunglasses. what do you do. WHAT DO YOU DO!!!!!" but it was not to be.

I feel that yes people will be better pilots for it. in the future it will allow them to adapt to other game changes faster since odds are the game will not revert to a bad state. The less you have to learn each patch is good. This is teaching people now so that when they meet Clan SSRM6s they don't lose their minds and just die stupid.

You thought I was trying to be punny? I wonder how many other people thought I meant a light mech...

Every light player will be significantly worse once knockdown is back in, especially the ECM abusing ones who tend to fail spectacularly at avoiding damage that's not in the form of homing missiles. I also predict fast assaults curbstomping facehugger mediums and heavies.

One thing I said to myself. Even though I hate hugging it happens and I'm sure I have gotten in the habit of getting closer than normal over the past few months.

'Suffering' through anything won't make anyone a better pilot if they don't try to adapt and fight what they're facing the best they can with what they have, without experimenting and figuring, for themselves, how different weapons behave, etc. If a player isn't trying to understand themselves, their enemies and the game itself, they'll never get passed average.

EDIT: On the flip side, guys who run FOTM builds and become effective with them by exploiting flaws in the game, lack of large maps, etc. and rely on those types of builds exclusively, are also going to see their effectiveness fall dramatically as the flaws in the game are fixed.
