ThomasMarik - Since we are able to freely modify our mechs anyway; How are Omnimechs going to work?
A: At this point we are not ready to discuss Clan Technology. We are getting very close to a final design, so look forward to a more official announcement in April/May.

April/May ETA, confirmed and quantified.

Who's to say they won't release several chassis to "kick it off" and introduce more as time goes on. Either could happen. I could see from a business standpoint delaying the release of content to generate hype over different media outlets.

I say they won't.

I'm standing by Spring 2014. "Several chassis" are insufficient to provide an accurate gameplay event with The Clans. You need a similar number of Clan mechs, maybe 75% of what the IS has and in the same classes.

People expecting Clanners anytime soon in this title aren't very smart... You can quote lore dates all you want but that doesn't mean it'll magically happen. Sorry to break the reality to you. That's like saying, I'm 16, I should have a car. *poof* Hurray! Reality is Clanners won't be on this game anytime soon. They aren't even done with half the main rooster yet nor have half the main game finished yet.

Read the whole thread. By now everyone knows how long it takes for mechs to come out. Read the WHOLE thread before dropping your 1 cent in the bucket. Again.... info. All the Clansmen really want.

"Actually, from my last reading... it's around August, when 'Clan Invasion' (he means Op. Revival) actually starts hammering hard on the Inner Sphere, we might scale our timeline around that. Basically, don't expect the 'Clan Invasion' in April."

Late summer/fall is when the Inner Sphere finally shook the concussion symptoms and mounted a few counter-attacks (see Second Battle of Twycross and Wolcott). The real blood doesn't come until 3051 with the fifth wave of the invasion. That saw some of the most intense combat in IS history and when the Clans really put the IS on the ropes. Right now they are just steam-rolling local militias and garrison forces.

However tomorrow marks the first day of combat within the IS with Clan forces! (Tyra Morabog engaged Ghost Bear aerospace elements on March 7th in Lethal Heritage)

I really hope that the devs put this in a newsfeed.

That would not be in keeping with BT lore. "Lethal Heritage", page 173 (paperback) "We of the First Circuit must surely have the best view of what is actually occurring. As you have instructed (Myndo Waterly), only the government officials of each nation should know the extent of his losses, and each of them should imagine that only their area is hit. The general populace is not yet alarmed, and most believe that the loss of communications with a few rim worlds is nothing more serious than a raid by Periphery pirates." 15 April 3050.

Comstar (who controls the newsfeeds and all communications) is in league with the clans, they are hardly going to announce to the general public that Kerensky's children have returned.

As such, by announcing nothing, PGI is in fact following the BT timeline (props to them for that). They are keeping us in the dark, because in this time in BT, we truely are in the dark. Quiaff?

It would be great if the PGI secretly put together a team and had them drop with clan mechs, at random times in the next couple weeks.

Imagine you are dropping into a battle and the loading screen is taking a long time. This is because the enemy is quickly discussing who will challenge who. The Match starts and challenges are quickly issued.

This would cause chaos on the forums as players report sightings. Maybe even a vid showing a couple seconds of a battle as the IS Mech died.

And unless they activate cheats for said mechs they will still be able to be shot as all mechs will be.
Thus the clanners will die if facing skilled players who knows how to play their mechs.

They took some liberties, like this army nobody is supposed to know about at this point:

No, at this time in the BT timeline we are learning the members of the Houses are just as weak and corrupt as we feared and are taking worlds in only days of fighting.

While I'd sit here and argue that I believe the reason they are holding off on the current Mech releases is to release en masse once we get access to Clan Mechs you have raised a very interesting revelation; I would like to know what this rooster is too.
