Great sale for new players!

Yet another sale I personally don't care about.

Waiting on a nice MC sale.

Did you not read the what you quoted in it's entirety? I said I have to go to work and had limited time to play. This sale required them to shut down the servers for about 15-20 minutes eating up 3/4 or more of what time I had to play. It's not that difficult.

Also, I understand why they are doing the sales. They are testing the ecomomic waters. Personally I don't see any real reason to spend MC on the stock variants of mechs. Instead that currency is better spent on Hero mechs, camo, xp conversions and occasionally a cockpit item one really wants.

It's my personal beef and feedback.

OK that's fair, i mean i see your point now but no matter when they patched they'd be affecting someone's ability to play. the sales are fundamentally a good thing for the game.

This is what might be considered a "loss leader" you and I might not care but everybody who just started playing (like a good friend of mine 2 days ago) sees stuff like this and a way to jump past the grind with a steal of a deal. theoretically PGI has lost potential MC on a mech purchase however once someone has spent money once they are more likely to do so again and looky looky we have all these things that you can ONLY get with MC. So yeah the sales aren't directly for me or you however in the long run they benefit me and you by having more people financially committed to the game and therefor more likely to spend more and play more.

LOL you got to be kidding right, this is not a sale it is a rip off, I said it before I will say it again, go over to War Thunder, look at their prices and then rethink yours, HARD.
Not ONE premium Plane more expensive then 10$ end of story. Sorry no money from me this month either, try harder.

How about selling it for 50 percent off the CBill price, thats even better for new players instead of buying one with real money however much it cost.

Only problem with that is, MC costs real money, CBills don't. By cutting the CBill price, people aren't as inclined to pay said real money. And after a certain time of that, PG would start to loose money. When they start to loose money, the game goes away. PG, and IGP are a business, and just like any business their goal is to make money. Cutting the CBill price in half would be counter productive.

Yea mech bay and paint & camo sales would be great.

No interest in buying mechs for MC, maybe a very special Hero mech in the future if there is one (Marauder IIc or Joanna's Mad Dog :P perhaps even Raven but not if a crappy Liao pilot or another lame 'made up' one).

I also have noticed the serious lack of news or updates, a week with nothing and then a rather pointless sale (considering vast majority would just get them with c-bills anyway but yes I am sure some with plenty cash and limited time will like it). Not impressed, where are the ISN feeds? It is great if everyone is too busy working on the game to produce news or updates but how about less twitch events and more news for the rest of us? A little fluff goes a long way.

This brings up another good sale idea: Mech bay sale, 25%-50%? Another idea: Give me a free mech bay with the purchase of one of these trial mechs on sale and I would me much more inclined to buy one. What say you, PGI?

Exactly. As it is, depending the pilot's situation, spending the money on a new mech also nearly necessitates spending money on a new mech bay. It's fine for the mechs to go on sale, but when the cost is effectively 300MC higher than posted it sort of makes it less appealing.

I played hard for that 50/50 weekend to save up enough cbills to buy a CPL-K2 and then I screw up buying it and end up using MC's instead of CB's... NOW ITS 50% OFF!

These feels, they sucks.

Don't purchase anything while sleep deprived.

They'll work with you to make it better. I've found their customer support to be extremely helpful.

For those of you complaining about this sale. Much of the MWO population are in their late 20's, early 30's. We have more money than time, and an MC sale on mechs can be actually pretty nice to get started. I bought my first 3 mechs with MC, and, though I wouldn't now, I certainly enjoyed the game far more for doing it (this was before the increased cbill boost for newbs). BTW, my first three were, the 3M, the 2D, and the 3L, all after the ECM implementation, and all without reading anything on the forums.

I mean...I spend $200+ on entertainment in a month at least (cable, audible, kindle, food, netflix, etc, so I'm willing to put some real money into this game if it means I can skip some of the more boring stuff (aka grind) which I don't really have time to do (why spend an hour being frustrated, when I can spend an hour having fun). Last thing I did with MC was actually during their XP to GXP sale, where I converted almost 200,000 xp for $15. This is useful for me when I just hate a certain variant and I don't want to try to level it up because it isn't any fun. Plus, I want to support PGI so they'll have more resources to make the game better.

I think they are doing a great job mixing up their sales to appeal to the different parts of their market, and while this sale for me isn't very interesting, many of theirs have been. As long as this game doesn't turn into P2W, I'll continue to spend money on it (if I can spend money to win, or have to spend money to win, then the whole game immediately becomes boring) to more enjoy my experience. I'm fine with paying to have more fun with a game, and in fact, I appreciate having that option.

Honestly? If a mech was between 2 and 5$ dollars a piece you'd be selling them like hot pancakes.Instead your prices are prohibitive.

I know cash is what makes the game turn but you're asking too much for little benefits. Rethink your strategy.

I agree. Even on sale I'm cautious about my purchases. If mechs ran like $5 a piece and heros maybe $10 I would be in collect them all mode. When they can cost like $30, I'm not even close to buying. Microtransactions need to be micro to work. Anything above about $10 isn't micro. I spent a lot more money in LoL since champ prices were more reasonable.

wait if the mechs are still sold for c bills shouldn't the c bill price be 50% off too to make it more balanced and not seem like a cash grab just saying what many players are thinking

I wouldn't buy stock mechs with MC at the base prices - just too high - but I do buy them on sale with MC.

My gaming time is very limited - typically half a dozen matches per day. Needing some 35 matches to buy a mech means I need to devote all my gaming time for the better part of a week to buying one chassis. Doesn't sound like much, but once addons like DHS and Endo are added, maybe a new XL engine (another week) progress is extremely slow.

I love the game, and don't feel it's a grind ever, but sometimes it's nice to get a new toy without having to stop working towards whatever I'm currently working towards.

I'd like to see Trial mechs simply always be on sale, say a flat 25% off or some such, so new players always have an incentive to buy one of them.

WOW! Nice try PGI, way to take the target off you back for alittle while we all oooo and awww over cheaper trial mech prices instead of taking care of the problems with ELO, Cheat programs, bugs, not enough maps to play, etc., etc. I will not spend anymore money on this game until things are fixed. Sorry you lost another person paying for something that is broken.

Nice, been wanting an Atlas D and Cat K2 for a while. Takes MUCH less time to earn fifteen bucks than 15 million cbills.

To be more constructive: Give me hero mech sales, MC sales, premium time sales, paint and camo sales, mech bay sales, or even homigosh, a free mech bay with purchase of hero variant.

EDIT: Maybe if posts like these get enough likes PGI might consider them.

Well, we already have been given three of the sales that you mentioned. Five if you count the Founder's program as a premium time sale and free Mechbay w/hero variant. I guess PGI is just that good.
