If all the Clans were named after mammals I'd laugh and say well played.

Who is talking about early access?

Drawing from the Founders Program as an example, the Trueborn Program would all the same provide early access to Clan faction content and have similar in-game additives such as in-game currency, premium time and battlemechs with a permanent honor generation increase.

If it's the same as the original founder's program, then we're talking "early" in the sense that you wouldn't have to grind out c-bills to buy the mechs in question.

As long as that means that anyone with the MC or the cbills can get involved with the clans right away, then it's fine. The OP does not really read like that though, and implies that clan founders would get 'early' access, which also implies that other people would have to wait.

It was an idea, imperfections exist. I was drawing from how the founders program worked. It did provide early beta access by "X" date. In addition, it gave you the possibility of being called to battle much earlier than that. This, would be a good selling point for a clan version of the founders package. Players would pay to have access early even if it's just two weeks.

And I'd be fine with that. It isn't unreasonable.

It's exactly what BF3 does too. They have "premium" which means you get access to the content 2 weeks sooner than non-premium players. Premium in BF3 is different than it is in MWO. I understand this. It's the same concept though.

MWO could sell "premium account" in addition to "premium time." This feature would let premium accounts have access to maps and mechs two weeks before non-premium accounts.

Someone take ^ idea and run with it.

** I took my own idea and ran with it ** lol :)

Yeah, they'd have to wait, but they also wouldn't have to experience all the glitches, rough edges, and flaws that inevitably accompany the release of new content into the wild. A bunch of people like me who are silly enough to pay for the privilege of being a beta tester would experience it for them. ;)

Yeah except it devalues the existing founder's mechs to offer people who didnt buy founders the opportunity to get founders mechs after-the-fact.

I could definitely see a package deal promotion... like get X amount of MC, X clan hero mechs, and X months of premium for free for like $30/$60/$120. But I dont think anything exclusive like founder's mechs should be included as part of it.

As I didn't make it clear earlier, I have always been fully convinced that we will get a clan 'founders' package of some sort, but I doubt it will be quite the same as before. Omnimechs with a cbills bonus, premium time, MC, maybe a forum tag, and maybe a vanity item/skin. But it does skate the P2W line, and anything like early access for those that pay would push it over the edge.

If PGI wanted to re-release the Founder's Package or put something out like it, that'd be their call. It doesn't de-value anything. If you buy the Die Hard trilogy special edition and then the new Blu-Ray pack comes out did you get screwed or did you get what you wanted to pay for?

People need to grow up.

Quite simply, for a limited time, you could pay real money (and only real money) for top of the line clan mech, and then (potentially) dominate those unable to do so. This would cause a forum fire, much claiming of P2W, and even though it would obviously be fixed as soon as the clan founders period finished it would still be damaging to the community and the game in general.
