Does the gauss seem to just blow up for no reason for anyone besides me? I put it on the torso of my FLAME, but it explodes way before i lose any traceable armor. Or my engine dies blows. Bizarre.

Also i put the ammo on my legs, and it explodes with no damage to the legs? It's just weird seeing your torso piece gone, but green armor around it.

Also I walked into a mountain once before the enemy was even encountered and it destroyed my engine as well. These bizarre things happened when i placed the gauss on my left torso.

The Gauss Rifle is very fragile (has like 3 HP or something). Also, Gauss Ammo does not explode.

Ah, it's not the guass but the AMS ammo seems to be exploding prematurely. Moved that to the legs too. But still, it shouldn't explode unprovoked.

Can crits bypass armor? I'm wondering if something like this is happening.

You run hot? if you over ride the mech shutdown system, you'll deal heat damage to a random item inside your mech for as long as you're over 100% heat.

In terms of bizarre deaths, I (and a couple of my corp-mates) have encountered random deaths where we have supposedly killed ourselves, with the cause of death being listed as engine destruction. We've seen it happen on a Raven-3L and a Gaussapult so far.

The gauss rifle itself explodes when destroyed and for some reason reason registers as an ammo explosion when it does.

That should be an overheat death, but on a gausspult? Only reasonable thing I can think of is that you died by going out of bounds. Otherwise that has to be a bug of some kind.

I don't think they've gotten around to having the system differentiate between ammo explosions and guass rifles going boom. Both use the same subsystem after all, and both aren't very pleasant,

Neither of us was close to being out of bounds, neither of us was close to overheating. It is possible that it is just a display error. In my case it is possible someone shot me, hit my gauss, it exploded, took out my engine, and listed it as a suicide instead of an enemy kill due to an error.

The Raven one was weirder though. Our 8man was short handed, 6v8, and the other team agreed to a series of duels. We were all watching our Raven fight a Centurion, and then suddenly, when the Centurion wasn't even shooting at him, the Raven just exploded, saying he had killed himself. The only thing we could think of was that he was a super laggy Australian, so maybe somehow the server got confused and let him hit himself with his own streaks or something.

Ya very fragile it has a 90% chance of detonating if it receives a critical hit. And now with the MachineGun/Flamer/LBX crit buff it should happen all over the place.


EDIT : Not when it just receives a critical but rather when it is disabled due to criticals.

Y'know, stuff like that is often a typing, rather than spelling, error. Kind of like how the now commonly used "teh" came from the rather common mistype of "the."

....Ok, the guass is probably a mistype. Rouge generally is just idiots that can't spell.

Yes exactly that's what happened! Only when I equipped Gauss though.

I had a self kill engine explosion. full armor.
