Now you have provided more details I refer you to the multiple times in this thread that I agreed that if you were not moving and someone purposefully shot you then it's their fault and not yours.
At no point prior to this have you specified that this thread is solely about you standing still and someone firing directly at you.

I thought it was pretty obvious what I was referring to in my initial post, sorry for the miss understanding but a did say in my initial post "people firing into team mates backs" and "within a few seconds of the match starting"
I know your agreed its their fault, and I agree with you

Same with the jack*** Assault pilots who just hold down W at the start. Collision damage DOES happen, and an Assault stepping on a Light will strip off half of their armor. As has happened MANY times; I've started off a round adjusting my cockpit lighting only to have someone in an Atlas or Stalker just barrel straight through me to get to the front lines a fraction of a second faster as they can't wait to SHOOT SOME **** RIGHT ****ING NOW!!!!
Well surprise, I've lost half a leg, my arm is bare, torso is at half and center torso has taken a good smack of damage. Because some ****TARD wasn't watching where he was going, just EXPECTING everyone to read his mind/get out of his way.
Personally, when I heat-test, it's at an angle down to the ground, or at an unoccupied rock after the team has spread out a bit. You aren't going to be getting into combat within the first 30 seconds or so, even at top speed. Slow your roll, relax the crack, and STOP BEING A NUMB****.
Where/when you fire is YOUR responsibility. Ensure the line is clear and going to stay that way before you let go.
In combat? Sure. Some FF is expected. But if you shoot/damage a teammate within the first 15 seconds of a round, you deserve to have them turn around and cockpit you.

Well said, my sentiments exactly.

I've never once had it happen while not moving.
My brother has fired "near" me with 6 LL's near the start of a match, sometimes damaging 3-4 pieces of armour despite no hits connecting on his screen... but no I do not attack him back.
If I did get cored in seconds then I would disconnect, change mech, and re-queue. That or act as a co-pilot for my brother who I am chatting to over VOIP by telling him what allies are doing / keeping an eye on the map / etc.
However, for people obsessed with stats like kill to death ratio or win to loss ratio I can see how it would be a bigger issue.

I realized that because now that ELO is applied (and mine must have gone up a little) It happens far less often than before that people "test" or "taunt" fire right after drop. The same can be said of many anoying habbits and mistakes of n00b puggers.

lmao...
1. you claim shooting at nothing at the start of a match is an ELO trait (logic?)
2. you admit that you will shoot allies who have in no way damaged any other allies because you dislike the sound of their lasers - and yet you do not see attacking innocent allies as a low ELO trait I assume, you see it as your God-given right.

1- it is not a statistical analysis of the situation, just my reading of anecdotal occurences. When I PUG into good teams, things go orderly (read: without the post drop weapon tests) and the game is usually won. Who believes in logic anyways?
2- Oh yeah, I will shoot them for they are not innocent, they are guilty of annoying me. tonight, there was this 3L pilot running around ant trying out his lasers while most of us were on the lookout for clues of the ennemy's position and such. hearing his shots, not only makes our team members who do not have him in LOS wonder who's fighting, it also reveals our position to our ennemies. so I gave him an AC20 shot in the back, told him he was wasting lasers. He protested that I was a ******* but still, I feel it was the right thing to do. Probably cured his ADHD, he'll thank me in time...

So if you see those dumb WoL that is all about quantity over quality and they blast you in the back just walk it off and TK them all later.

1. Your anecdotal evidence doesn't mesh with mine.
2. I assume you don't freak out when someone TK's you because for some reason they decided that you "annoy" them? If you have the right to randomly attack people then you must accept people's right to randomly attack you, otherwise you'd just be a hypocrite.
FYI your name annoys me. Please confirm if it the same ingame so I can TK you on sight.

1- that is the big problem with forum discussions: all we ever get is anecdotal evidence! Forums are OP. We should nef the forums.
2- I'm a lot of things but a hypocryte I ain't. as previously stated I've been called a ***** and a ******* **** on occasions and these people make a good point. so yeah, If I'm anoying and should be punished for behaving as such, please shoot my mech in the back any time.

FYI, you and me Bro... I hate that name, It wouldn't be as bad if it had Quotation marks for the middle name but honestly, I'd like to be able to change it for something with more zest! Just a warning if you want to TK me, make sure I didn't drop with Balash first, he can be vengeful and he's a very competent killer. Or you can try to TK him first but then, you'll have lost the element of surprise on me... Better wait for me to drop solo and give my name the beating it deserves.
