it is a bit sad... It is in pain.
Please end it. Show mercy - you are cruel torturing it to death limb by limb.
Show some humanity PGI just end it now.
I would point out all the broken things, but it is a waste of time (and a lot to write) and you all know about it if you play the game.
(I will elaborate on the general issues later)
Launcher UI is from hell
- every action need two or more clicks
- button placement is not good
Engine
- Graphics look **** given the chosen engine
- Given the underwhelming graphic fidelity performance is bad
- lower settings / cfg tweaks will not render certain structures and trees in the distance but will render enemy mechs
- lag/lagshield/faulty lagcompensation/bad interpolation
- getting stuck on picketfences
- multi monitor support is bad
- if you have 2 monitors and alt tab out of the game to say a browser instance on the other monitor after that mouseclicks will randomly put you out of the game on the desktop and you have to alt tab back
Bugs
- I think its best just to read here
http://mwomercs.com/...7-known-issues/
and here
http://mwomercs.com/...upport-archive/
- crashes
- hitboxes
- ammo explosions without ammo / overheating
Gameplay
Better. Now I can respond to something.
Launcher UI:
I personally don't have your started issues. A single click is all I need to have something happen. Right now, it's better than it use to be. Use to have mech customization that when you tried to save at them end would crash to desktop. Items purchased but no changes happened.
As for buttons, that might be a preference thing. Only problem I have is, when grouped, I've had problems with the ready/launch button being odd. Never been a real persistent problem once I figured how it worked.
Engine:
The graphics are rather good, especially when compared to other Mechwarrior titles. Actually, I'm very impressed with the graphics, even on my old system with lowest graphics settings. On higher settings, it really looks nice.
As for lag shield, I haven't really seen much of it for two patches now. Then again, I have a ping in the 30s. Might make a bit of difference there.
I get stuck on silly things from time to time. If you feel it's bad enough, press F9, screen shoot (F9 brings you grid position and game frame rate) and submit a ticket to support.
The game was not designed for multi screen use. Them not having support for a feature you are using that the game want designed for is not their fault. I play in one screen and have no such issues.
Bugs:
Yes. They exist, and are being worked on. If you find something that is a bug, report it. If it on list, it's worked on. This is good.
Never had a death from over heating yet, but I try to manage my heat. Ammo exploding and killing me I find to be a rare event. Never have I died from either without overheating not even I didn't have ammo in my mech. If to you, take a screen shot of the death screen and mention you didn't have ammo to support. That would be a bug. (gauss rifles can explore even if their ammo can't. Rifle that explode count as ammo explosion damage.)
So far, I don't see anything game breaking or game killing... Is there more?
