Your odds based on strictly Forum User #'s was approximately 1.6 to 1 to get in. 124,000 members/2000 keys to date...

  • Maybe they are removing anyone that answered the B-Tech knowledge question with "Walking Battletech wiki" because it was a "weeder" question designed to eliminate those folks who just answered the highest possible response. :)

Which would kinda suck for those of us that answered that question truthfully.

I wonder if I shot myself in the foot by stating that I did not intend to get a founders package.... oh well.
I wonder about people answering the beta testing question. I have seen some truely, truely screwed up bug reports in past betas..

I heard from a guy who knows a guy who is dating a girl that used to work with a fella who married a woman who is related to a distant cousin of the arch duke of ferdinand who has the phone number of a contact who has it on good authority that someone knows of the building that someone lives in that used to work with someone at a petrol station that someone at piranha used to car pool with fueled that they apparently according to sources they put a parachute on chimpanzee, put that chimp in a plane and push him out at 5000 ft so he'll land in a crowded square on a busy saturday in the city center and the first person he touches, gets a beta key..they do this many times til the numbers are filled

sshhh..dont tell anyone, dont want anyone to be fired cause we know the secret

I know right. Was just speculation on my part. I should just chalk up my not being in yet to my bad luck. I roll enough snake eyes on the table top, I should know better. :)

Good luck with the next wave of invites everyone.

I definitely answered all the questions truthfully... however, even as a Battletech fanatic and prolific beta tester (I've alpha/beta-tested tons of games over the years... including Mech Commander 2!), my chances are just as good as everyone else's to be picked.

Talking about the beta pick here couldn't possibly improve your chances to get in so you might want to find something different to talk about. :)

You mean like if "minutia" is actually smaller then "tiny"? That sort of thing? :) lol

LOL, this is a perfect example of what keeps the forums active, debate over semantics and other rabble.

But to my post, it's the same as saying "the littlest among the little people".

Everyone is in with a chance no matter how you answered because as said above they will be testing different things at different times. Hence introducing batches of people that meet that particular criteria at that time ... I guess lol
P.S. Pick me please! :)

I mean honestly, how does it work? Do the devs just pick people at random that got their Beta status thing 100% filled out, do they pick favorites, is there a certain criteria that people had to fit to get in, number of forum posts, etc. etc. etc.

Thought? Facts? Anything?

In a manner that prevents gaming the system to get a better chance through providing presumably perferred answers one would hope.

People getting in based on forum posts? What does forum post count have to do with video game testing? Seriously this is a beta test, not some magical club to play a secret Mechwarrior game. It like all betas is to test the software and or backend systems. There's no magic criteria to test te game. Unless they decide they need more people with DDR2 ram to replicate a crash or something.

Not that I'm trying to be mean, but this is just a fame beta, not some magic mystery :). Just happens to have mechs in it.

i'm more curious about connection speed. my down is 31Mbps and my up is 6Mbps. it just said internet connection speed so i just selected less than10Mbps since i assumed they meant up speed. still not sure if i chose the right answer.

i also got a "Windows Experience Index Rating: WEI assessment xml not found" even though my WEI is 5.9, but i just left it as "not found".

probably won't kill my chances though since i would assume they're looking to test the game on a wide array of connection and hardware configs, and the WEI isn't really a reliable way of analyzing a computer's performance since i've seen mediocre at best builds score 5.9.
