TL:DR - See how things are implemented before you jump to conclusions, regardless of whether you're a glass half-full or glass half-empty sort of person.

The point is that P2W isn't as clear cut as some people make it out to be. "If it's available for in-game currency it's not P2W!!½!" is false. It's a grey area. They could force you to grind a day extra or 10 years extra for the in-game currency required to match the dollar value of any given item. The only clear cut distinction that can be made at all, if any, is that anything that circumvents the in-game reward systems and has an impact on gameplay is P2W, i.e. anything that shortens the grind. If you're not willing to accept that, then at least accept that it's a grey area.

Second, they're reacting with warning about P2W because PGI didn't give any details. It could be P2W, or it could not. People don't want P2W so they make sure to cry out for more detailed information with a worst case scenario statement. Complaining about it is basically complaining about people complaining, and is equally pointless, if not more so. At least they're giving some sort of feedback.

So, because they are used in other games it is a good idea to use them in MWO and everyone opposed to them should just shut up?

Personally, I reject the whole idea of modules. Whoever wants to buff his or her mech in some regard should pay a price for it. And I don't mean GXP, CBs or MCs, I mean stuff like heat, risk, weight and slots.

This is a free to play game. Most free to play games take advantage of consumables that players can purchase with credits OR cash. That's my statement. People getting angry about a mechanic that hasn't been introduced yet might want to wait before they start the whole gnashing of teeth and pulling of hair bit but I certainly didn't tell them to shut-up.

All I think when I see the "consumables" is welcome to MWO's version of gold rounds.

As long as all consumables are available for Cbills AND MC it should be fine.

That and testing grounds is a SOLO mode....no freaking Bueno....would be so much better if you could do it with friends.

You rarely ever saw anyone using gold rounds outside of clan war matches. Using gold rounds outside of clan war matches usually resulted in players mocking the gold round user in chat.

People that insist on comparing this game to "other f2p games" to argue for making it more like other p2wf2p games "because those games do it", while ignoring the legacy of its MechWarrior game precedessors, the legitimate expectations of the already-established MW fanbase, and the Battletech lineage of this IP, should be disregarded.

You know, that "?" marks a question. So keep it cool.

I hereby demand that we don't use mechs and 31st century weaponry anymore, but ride all sorts off stupid looking creatures and mechanisms and slay each other with swords, bows and magic. Because that's the genre standard.
Really, I don't mean to offend you or anyone else, but "the others do it too" has always been a stupid reasoning for anything. One should've learned in one's childhood that it does not work like that.

This "gold" ammo is the reason i dont play WoT. And was not hoping to see it ever in MWO.

Yes, but this way EVERYTHING PGI ever said can be changed within one patch.
You cant trust their word anymore this way. And this would make them not trustworth anymore.
