I'd like to hear from someone in the know (not "you sucks" from trolls, etc) if the MWO staff can:

make a flat 0 degree C open area arena with a 5 min time limit for testing of your mech. This would be so a pilot could set gun controls, watch his heat with diferent firing options, set gun groups, practice with jump jets, etc so they don't have to do it the first 2 min during a firefight.

I know it's a little bit of a pain in the butt, but it would help EVERYONE while trying to set up their mechs, especially new players nervous about their first fight.

This is not a suggestion thread.

A practice mode is planned for a release this month.

Check the current patch. We have that right now.

Click on the mode selection, choose Testing Grounds.

Enjoy.

But its not actually a blank zero degree area. The times i played it i was stuck in the volcano map and over heated as per usual. I know its a rotating map but it would be nice to be able to choose a map which you can have a zero heat atmosphere.

If you cannot find the new mode in the updated patch today. Goto the chose map mode and instead of just Assult and Conqure there is also a Training one at the bottom of the two.

You'll be able to choose the map in a later patch.

Thats great to hear. It makes things easier to test a certain config for specific maps to make sure your not going to overheat or even testing a light mechs turning in some of the more industrial areas that you always get stuck in while being chased by a Atlas etc. Kind of like practice running a obstical course through the buildings before doing it for real.
