The folks who complain about killstealing are the exact same folks who scream at their team for not helping them after they get killed.

True story.

With the announcement of statistics being public in the future, I expect there will be an awful lot of idiots revealed.

No such thing as a kill steal, just saving your teammates from another volley of fire.

Is it me or has the intelligence level dropped on the forums today. I pop into a thread only to feel dumber with each click. I know its my own fault but really I mean come on...

Why,Why would you be upset at all for someone killing a guy that is trying to kill you? Please inform me the reasoning behind being upset in any way.

How About "Kill This Mother "you know what" that's beating the Crud outta me, you lazy son of a you know what".....

KS and worrying about it is overrated!
Personally, I try to get as many assists and general damage as I can.

EDIT:
They blocked a bad word I made. :D

Lowering yourself to the level of the person who insulted you does not make you appear to be a better person. Quite the contrary, actually.

Won't make a rat's *** difference for PUGS who sit way perched on high points on the back of the map waiting for 4mans to do all the real fighting before they move in....

Unless they just peel off for a base cap without telling anyone and thus avoid fighting altogether.

And while snarky, he's correct. Team game. The less you get shot because some teammate finished off an enemy that put some major holes into you, is more time and components you both have to deal with the next viable threat. Wait for Solaris before you have issues with "killstealing".

I'm with Bilbo, if I'm getting pummeled, I just want the pain to stop. I don't care if I get the kill or if bloody Mickey Mouse does. Besides at a whopping 0.44 kd ratio, won't hurt me much one way or the other.

I ran a match in my Hunch once and did 930 damage not a single kill. You know what that means? I kicked some a-s-s and my crew took their names. Without my team I would have been a smoking husk.

I run my K2 as a second line support build. It's not a brawler, and I don't have enough long range weapons on it to play as a dedicated sniper. I'm that guy behind the front line, but in front of the LRM support. I put rounds on target as often as I can, helping the front line burn down the push. Sometimes I get a kill, most of the time I don't. I look at kills as a team effort. At the end of the match, as long as we get the win, I don't care if I have 0 kills and 7 assists. This new mechanic just means I'll occasionally get a bonus on my paycheck....

Amen to that.

It only rewards you if you save someone with half health or less on a critical component. That's hardly a KS and much more of a pulling your butt out of the fire bonus.

I play fire support a lot. It's not uncommon to end a march with 7-8 assists and no kills. But I don't care because WE JUST WON THE FREAKIN' MATCH!!!!

Pour on damage with your team mates, if you win the game of kill shot roulette, congrats to you good sir.

My perspective? "Killstealing" is actually kind of a viable teamplay strategy and if done correctly is somewhat helpful. If I take off someone's CT armor and LA but they run, me dragging my 100 ton butt off to chase them isn't helping the team. If a swayback pilot wants to step up, finish the damaged mech off and get back in position much faster than I could, more power to the swayback pilot. OTOH if someone is doing it because they actually care about their KDR and aren't contributing to the fight otherwise, that's kind of annoying.

Thanks for taking the time and actually have a response. Yep that is very good way to look at it. I guess when I see another mech in trouble I go over to help then they get on me. My team mate instead of helping. They decide to run off and sit at distance and make the kill and run off. Not you but love how people love to get on a forum and bash people any chance they get. Thanks again :D

That makes much more sense. I read it wrong. My bad. Was thinking target mech. Its the team mech below half. Thanks :P

Nah, it'll make a difference for the guys who peel off to go cap.

Opfor will now get 7,500 c-bills for coming back and popping each of them in the face when they try to cap so people will be more motivated to punish that tactic.
