If they do it, it's 99% likely to be a disaster, see EVE and the CSM over it's history.

Basically what they need is a version of EVE Online's CSM, a players council of voted members that represent the player base to the company. I know that various groups dominate the CSM, but its the best model I have seen yet to get the players' views directly to the devs.

Exactly. Our very presence in these forums is because we're biased in some way toward the franchise and/or the product.
