Add to the list:
1) Unlock mech and pilot skills directly with MC (get rid of conversion, it sucks)
2) Improve premium so it's desirable. As is you run out of stuff to unlock and premium becomes useless rather quickly (in comparison to the expected lifetime of the game).

Would be "Pay-to-Play" since players wouldn't be able to make their own team without spending money.

First of all, if someone is playing for free, and masters a single type of mech, they will have a ton of c-bills and they will eventually want to master a second mech class, and that more or less requires more mechbays.
Mechbays are kind of like charging for premium time in reverse, it monetizes all of the time you've spend in game for free, since it gives you an outlet for what you've gained while playing. So while people have been playing "for free" this gives them good way to give back some money for the time they've used the servers and intellectual property.
Also if Mechbays are included with buying a Mech for MC, you can get that "in for a penny, in for a pound" effect, and have people get a mech at like 20% off since they wanted the bay anyways.

Probably not nearly as much rage as you think. Hopefully; it would force some patience in the "Now now now! Me me me!" F2P MW world.

Has anyone mentioned that yet?
The question is "How do you make money?" How does a deep, engaging free game make money? It doesn't.
To be totally frank; I'm sure they have already mapped out their financial strategy years before they developed this game.
The game is in Beta. Some things may be trials, but I imagine they are just testing the waters and increasing the users before they release more paid services.
It's kinda stupid to think a bunch of video game playing kids can come up with a better strategy than their very detailed business plan, which was reviewed by their financial institution before receiving funding.
I highly doubt this game will just bomb because a handful of founders don't like 1 thing and rage with entitlement on the forums. I would actually think the opposite is true.
The fewer players that are on the forums, the more successful their idea is. 10 loud forum users has far less impact than 10,000 people in-game and playing. If thousands stop playing, than they will go back and see what changes discouraged play.
Anything posted in these forums should basically be "I found a bug" or "I need help with..."
Otherwise; go to the suggestion and join the list of 1000's of ideas.

This would also "motivate" PGI to introduce more content and more often.

They have it in Blacklight:Retribution, and it seems to work just fine. In fact, the private server ops can select mutators like +25% exp or money for everyone on the server, on top of being able to select map and game mode rotation, just to make renting them even more attractive. They offer 1 day, 3 day, 7 day and 30 day private servers for rent in-game.

That Mech would be fully customizable with weapons from my mechlab.
If I subsequently purchased that Mech it would cost me 100MC less, or 250 000 CBills less(I think that is the converson rate), depending on how I paid for it.
This would give players the ability to see if they like the style of a Mech before they buy it.
And this would give PGI a small income stream from players like me who purchase most of their Mechs with CBills.
A sweetner could be to get a 10% XP bonus during the 10 game test drive period. This would probably have to be applied to all Mechs purchased with MC.

Ask yourself How many active premium players are in the system? (idk myself) and keep that number in the back of your head...
Continue MC's, but specifically for cosmetics, souvenirs, custom clan team badges etc. and soley 'optional' game related items. Stop the MC equipment upgrade, I realize that’s a tough one considering the established players vs. the newer players, but it has to be nipped in the butt now. Follow me here...
MC's primary purpose is: 1. purchasing "extra" garage space(s). 2. Purchase premium game time to play a premium game on premium servers allowing access to premium game content in a constantly evolving gaming environment.
Those two items are quite a challenge. But it’s all the revenue you could imagine! Keep following me here… I can’t leave a suggestion without some logic
This is a pay to play gaming environment. Like a golf course for example. And just like golf, you either enjoy mechs or your not interested at all. And if you enjoy mechs and get into the whole atmosphere of the sport, then your hooked for life.
Required to play:
(1) Mech garage at monthly rate of $__.__.
Have fun
That’s it!!!
One flat fee for all inclusive gameplay collected from each player every month is a long term revenue machine. The evolution of the game mechanics will plateau over time because a mech is still a mech, but how a person uses it will never get old, meaning it will never die. Now start mixing it up… maybe a Capture the flag game style, maybe 3 with 3 ballistics only in smaller arenas, maps maps maps. I’m a CryEngine3 dev so at this point my head is swimming with visions but which also means I know there is tons of money already here
To be continued

Expensive silver and gold mech paint?
One off hero mechs for popular models that can't really justify 3+ varients being made(Urbie, crab and king crab maybe?)

Buy a month of Premium Time, get a free camo colour unlock.
I don't know why this appeals to me so much because the cost of just buying the colours you want is going to be considerably cheaper than paying for months of premium time... but I feel like I've already bought the colours that I really really want and can't justify spending on the secondary colours I only kind of want... but somehow making it a perk of premium time (that I also don't really need) makes getting colours I'll rarely use feel like a fair purchase.

Good one, a small price for opening a mech corp would be a nice first time purchase, for groups of friends.
I took mine from the consumables thread: One time MC unlock for different Artillery/Airstrike/Coolant smoke colors. People love showing off their taste on the battlefield!
If it would apply to cbill versions, even those players who never pay for the MC variants would be an income.

- Cosmetic mods for my mechs (think: the nose cone of the Founders Catapult compared to the standard Cats)
- Modular HUD components. (I want to move the info panels to where I'd like them to be)
- Cosmetic HUD changes. (colours, styles, etc)
- Cockpit items (if they gave some kind of bonus, like 5% extra C-Bills, for example)
- Guild/Clan goodies (banners, decals, cosmetic mod kits which can be shared with clan members)

1. Let us change mech's camo based on map. (After mech selection and prior to drop itself)
So it will make sense (for me a least) to buy loads of different camos for each map/environment type.
2. Make more cockpit items with same level of quality as nvidia fairy.
Most of cockpit items which we have now are really low on quality.
3. Let us add House Decals on our mechs.

When you get a kill:
"He has to be thinking, 'How did I get hit?' With reflexes like that, it's amazing he isn't hit more often."
"When the reactor goes, that's USUALLY a sign you've taken too much damage."
"I don't even know who was piloting that one, but he sure put up one heck of a fight. You can bet he'll be getting some camera time after this one. Of course... you get even MORE camera time if you WIN."
"Whoa! That kid was on fire down there. Of course, now he's literally on fire."
Situational:
"And it's down to the final two. One of these guys is going to go home the winner and the other is going to be flying over the arena in an ejector pod."
"THIS is the kind of fighting that you don't get in any other weight class, 'mechs ziggin' this way and that. Munitions fire ALL over the place. This is some classic Light 'mech action."
"We have a lot of fighting but no dying..."
All of these could be taken straight from MW Mercenaries.
Even better would be if they could get George Ledoux to record some new ones along the lines of..........
"Look at them go! Man I love this game. It has my favorite things! 'Mechs, big guns, and a whole lot of explosions. You know my wife sometimes looks at me strangely. "Duncan," she says "there's more to life than Mechwarrior online." Frankly, it's like she speaks another language. I mean, the words make sense individually, but put them together and it's complete nonsense."
