You don't happen to work for the Electoral College do you?
I am only interested in the opinion of people who have read the dev post, understand that it outlines a pay to win scheme, and have formed an opinion one way or another. If you think it's not pay to win, you need to re read the dev post. If you aren't sure how you feel about the new consumable system, come back and vote when you've figured it out.

What gives you the idea that consumables are only available to people that pay money? You are jumping the gun so you can tout your pet issue. Go back to your basement until you have definitive evidence that mwo is pay to win.
Honestly, how can you not understand such a simple concept?
In an environment where module slots are limited, being able to use a capability through fewer module slots is more than a convenience. It's advantageous as it allows you to carry more modules on your mech.

So you will pay real money for an ingame advantage in tourney play? I just want to be clear on your stance.
How is it an advantage when it's available to everyone?
Would you take a knife or a gun to a fight?
HERO Mechs are what then?
So IF someone brings a HERO mech to a tourney match you'd call that an unfair advantage as well?

No because hero mechs offer no advantage beyond generating more cbills.

Wrong. YLW can mount an AC20 on the arm also only cent with 120 degrees of torso twist.
MURO can mount 3 UAC5s
FLAME only dragon with a ballistic in the torso.
Should I go on?
Now who needs to read up?

Hero mechs unattainable variant to the free2cry kiddos even has 30% more cbills per match
Premium Time unattainable except through the rare 1 day special provides 50% more cbils + 50% more EXP
Combine a Hero and Premium Time and you have P2W because we will have more cbills to play around with and faster gains on MXP and GXP
Ohh then there is the mechbays that free2cry babies can not ever get unless they support a game they love to mooch off of.
I am sorry but basic math and understanding states that the cbill version is better however you sacrifice a module.(refers to coolant)
Now please quit being asstarded free2cry ********

A hero is not a demonstrably better piece of kit though it's the first grey step PGI took towards this. They are borderline but not clearly better, and in some cases are worse than mechs available for C-bills.
Nor are modules available to all players. T3 modules are only available for real money.
T3 modules by their description given by the lead dev are inherently more powerful than their free counterparts, for less space. Nobody running free can compete, they literally cannot run the same gear. You can replicate the effects of a single T3 with a stack of T1+T2 but that eats a slot. Which in a tourney of paying players will be full of T3 slots. That's the difference between 35% cooling and 35% cooling + T3 arty for a mech with 2 slots. Now give an entire team access to cash-only items. See how long it takes to devolve competition into a cashpeen contest.
This is more about taking a gun to a knife fight because the other guys can't afford guns. Then all knife fights are gone because everyone runs their pistols for cash instead of being uncompetitive. And the real esporters go to a more fair game system.

No, because a Hero Mech does not offer a clear, calculable advantage in gameplay. Coolant flush does. Having one more module slot does.
This is something I like to link to in discussions like this, because these guys explain it so well:

I understand it, perhaps it is you who should re-read. To quote Paul: "The C-Bill version of coolant flushes will allow 2 uses during a match."
Again, in what way is the ability to flush twice during a game a disadvantage?

I can see this also being the case with the artillery/air strike as well. If you miss with the first strike you always have the next one, whereas if you miss with the tier 3 you miss for good.
Are they pay to win? Honestly, you can't really say that until you are actually in game with them to say that.
