Any reason to assume the Unseen mechs won't be included?

FlyingDebris will make it happen. You only need to change the artistic outline up to 25% to be able to use it.

2nd column, 5th row. On the PGI website.
I addressed that video, attempting to get a straight answer and it was casually dismissed. Probably as the ravings of an idiotic fan. But I stated that having that video is misleading/false advertisement. Because of the whole unseen/reseen/harmony gold issue.
So I'll tell you what got shoved down my throat, That video has almost nothing to do with MWO, because its from MW5, a game that was going to be released multiplatform, singleplayer with some multiplayer elements and was announced back in like 2009. Its there to show the supposed "evolution" of MWO. Which in my opinion is bogus, it shouldn't be there, or it should be properly explained with a straight answer about the unseen.

However, they would have to be prepared to contest HG's frivolous claim. That's the 64-thousand dollar question here.
Will PG bother to deal with HG?
At this point it's up in the air and behind the closed doors of lawyer meetings. A "yes" or "no" to this question could come at any time and be based on any number of factors.
Would be funny if Studio Nue stood up for PGI and told HG to screw off
People would also NEED
NEED
to not be pissed off if they totally redesigned the mechs and used the old names

Cause there are a hell of a lot more than twelve around in 3049 (as you likely well know, not trying to be insulting)
So ruling it out cause its not in at launch is ruling every mech they dont include at launch out an thats a little shortsighted yes?

Relaesed the game with image's of Mechs that belonged to other people, I do remember playing with a lot of unsceen mechs in Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries, but of what I know we are unable to use them any more.
Alot of work has been put into keeping the names of all the orinigal Battlemech but had to redesign the look of all the unsceen / resceen Battlemechs.

Here's the deal:
Harmony Gold owns the rights to the original SDF Macross TV show animation, the original SDF Macross TV show merchandising, and the Macross: Do You Remember Love merchandising. Due to this, they cannot use macross designs (Fokker, Minmei, various mecha, etc) unless it's recycled footage (animation rights), or new stuff created for videogames/toys/etc (merchandising rights).
HG bought these rights from Tatsunoko as part of the foreign distribution rights.
That above is the truth of the whole matter, despite what Harmony Gold may claim.
Now, HG asserts that what they bought from Tatsunoko was the rights to ALL macross designs for foreign use and that the now own them as part of Robotech. They are both right and wrong though. Tatsunoko did sell them these. However, Tatsunoko was successfully sued by Studio Nue and it was ruled that Tatsunoko did not have the authority to sell this to HG. The result was that Harmony gold only owns the very limited set of rights listed above.
Despite this, HG likes to legally bully anyone they feel is infringing on their copyrights (which aren't actually theirs, it's Studio Nue's). They count on the hope that their opponent won't have the funds to fight a legal battle. If it ever did go court over the Unseens, a good defense team would have it thrown out due to the fact that HG does not have the authority to bring a lawsuit (only Studio Nue can do that).
PGI is probably working on talks behind the scenes, or are working with IP lawyers to make the Unseens different enough. This is an area where nothing is certain, so they are keeping mum on the matter in case it falls through (which it very may well).
I don't believe the FAQ for one instant where is says HG had nothing to do with their decision. I think they are just legally covering their butts. The fact is that the 2009 trailer was pulled after a C&D from Harmony Gold and after that everything went dead for two years. I'll bet that scared off all the potential publishers (and understandably so).
Personally, I don't see how Harmony Gold still has money to afford lawyers. Do Robotech DVD collections and crappy cheap spinoffs make that much?
Last I heard, Harmony Gold had lost the rights to Macross because the original makers got tired of HG's bull****.

No, I didn't mean to imply that the video meant anything about MWO. What I did mean is that in spite of any real or perceived legal action, that it is regardless on the site. I didn't mean to convey anything other than that.

As we've seen they can totally keep using the names/loadouts from the original mechs and PGI has a great art group that can take the "feel" of the Unseen and just make something new. Would I mind seeing a Shadowhawk without the big shoulder gun so it's "different" from the original? Sure I'd still get it if it still "felt" Shadowhawk like.
Same goes with the Marader and the Warhammer. Make new mechs with similar "gun arms" and I'm sure we'd all be on board with it. The names and loadouts would be the same it'd just be yet another art refresh for us.
Though I also agree there's probably a lot of legal dancing and prep going on in the background before anything might happen.

I'm sorry that some people need training wheels and handholding to come to obvious conclusions. I'm also highly medicated, here we go:
Factor in ALL the UNSEEN mechs and their respective roles, do you really think MWO would take a pass on some of the most iconic images and machines the game has ever seen over those chosen thus far.
Not even a one?
MAYBE they are planning an "Unseen mech" expansion pack. <<<<<------This is an acid flashback speculation from the wobley wibly timey wimey Tardus Future Visionomitor.
All signs point to them making the best mech decisions they can make at this time.
If I ever see a Khyron pod running across the battlefield under MWO's banner I'll eat dev shoe, because I doubt it'll ever happen.

Get your information correct. FASA licensed those images legally. They settled out of court for exactly the reasons stated above. It was too costly to win when they could just move forward with other designs. This discussion has been done to death, and yet people who take their information from thin air keep accusing FASA of theft.

Huh.......well I'll be damned. They are displaying a video with an unseen in it, maybe there is hope after all. Also heh, Warhammer is my favourite mech so its nice to see it back even if it is the video from the scraped MW:5 trailer. For the quite a bit it was an iconic mech then along came the timberwolf.
