Anyone? I'm just curious. The two non ECM variants are... bottoms.

*edit*

To clarify--I'm especially curious who has done it without spending GXP.

Wow. That's dedication. Was it worse than getting fifteen crowns put in during a single session?

Same here. Was pain that I can still feel. MG-version was fun though

I've got a Spider 5V. Not an effective mech, but very fun to drive.

Or did you use GXP ?

I have Elite on all of them.
Painful experience.
Selling them was a relief.

Edit:Whohoo -The M word is censored.

I leveled it during the XP bonus weekend it was still rough as the 2 nonecm variants have little firepower. worth it though...152 KPH

I mastered a spider ECM used GXP on the other 2, my KDR actually went up in the process, and that was with me sitting around 11.00

The mech is over all trash but you can beat non ECM & streak wielding mechs if you try hard enough

I'm working on finishing master on the 5D. It's fun enough to drive for a few matches every now and then, and then I jump into a real mech.

I've elited all of them and mastered the 5V. I actually find them very fun to drive because of the JJ's and speed. Their effectiveness is definitely questionable though...

Crawling along with a bunch of 100-pt games, then a 425 cap win? Man: That hurts and stings …

The game rewards kills and damage done, so the one true scout 'Mech really needs it's pilot to have a pile of GXP to get anywhere this month. :-(

I like my Spiders, but you don't buy one if your sense of reward comes from body count …

Yeah that 152 kph is mighty appealing. That plus the doubling of the basic skills. I realize what doing that turned my other mechs into did so it makes it very tempting to do with the spider.

Too true. 12 JJ's is so much fun just rocketing around the field. Shame that takes up all of the tonnage unless you sacrifice your speed for it. Most fun mech I have played, one of the harder ones to grind through (not the hardest by far.... stupid crap Ravens)

Eliting was stupidly easy.

Peter Parkour - 5V variant - 2 MPL, 12JJ, 255XL. Run around, shoot stuff, don't be stupid, and it elites fast.

Recluse 5K variant - 210XL, Endo, probably DHS too, 5 JJ's, 2 tons of UAC5 ammo, 1 UAC5, 1 ML. Worked just fine. Run up behind atlases, unload UAC, run around medium lasering till you die. Worked pretty well.

Widow 5D - Secret .

It's not a mech for everyone, so if you don't like it, don't use it. Or do use it, and get killed by other spider pilots like myself who think you don't deserve such a fine machine

Oh I like it. Just compared with the 5D the others stink. It is an addictive guilty pleasure of a mech.

It's strange but somehow it's one of the lights I find I can hit most consistently, maybe because it's fairly tall for its' size and easier to keep in my sights. Props to anyone that pilot them often, I find the fragility of the Jenners already annoys me quite a bit.

Mastered all three, and had a blast doing it. Still drive my 5D a lot, and have MUCH fun doing so. I wish they would take off the speed limits. That is the one thing that is killing this mech. It should be the flash on the ground and superman in the sky. I think of it as practice for when I get more mech bays and load them with Jenners. If you can kill in a spider, you can kill even more in anything else.

Elited all three, mastered the D during the tournament. I think the spider is the only "true" light 'mech - given that you can't get an incredibly high alphastrike or do any overblown laserboating. Too bad the game (so far) fails to reward playing as a scout as opposed to doing damage. With a decent team, a scout really shines.

The 5V will put a smile on your face for a few matches when you max out jumping coupled with max speed.
The 5K will make you want to write angry threads in the forum demanding that MG's gets fixed yesterday!

I'm keeping the 5D though - speed, mobility, ECM - without making me feel like I'm taking advantage of buggy code...
