Transformer sound was way better than this!! Please change it back

While a recharging / cycle-up sound is a welcome addition, it's a bit annoying when chain-firing multiple MLs.

However, I think it's not over-the-top "OMG ITS AWFUL!!!" as much as people make it out to be. Maybe needs a bit of tweaking.

It's supposed to be balancing against lasers actually hitting something. So people do not run laser boats like in closed beta, or at least not with sound on.

Pulse lasers have a recharge sound though, but aren't even in the same class as this.

Heh, at first I thought it was some new kind of alarm, until I realized it was linked to my laser fire. ;) It's indeed rather intrusive to the battle soundscape. If there's going to be a new sound, I'd prefer to hear something more "beefy", something that would be more allusive to banks of high energy capacitors recharging with massive current. Something lower pitched, instead of a slide whistle, which sounds anemic. :)

I think they've put in new missile launch sounds, too? I actually like that sound. It feels more...substantial.

The pulse laser reload sound is actually very cool, indeed. Always loved it. Complained alot that the other weapons do not have that kind of cool feedback.
But the new "normal" laser recharge sound is just bad, maybe it sounded cool while played by itself one time in the "lab". But ingame it is distracting and does not even give good feedback when the weapon did fully recharge. At least for me it does not help at all to recognise when they are fully recharged.

Please change it back! The new laser sound effect is terrible and annoying, especially when chain firing.

the sound is ridiculous!
Remove or revert. Silence is preferred over that sound

I like that the sound developers are experimenting with new sounds; however, this one missed the mark. I like the idea of a recharge sound, and so far laser sounds have been going in a good direction [the *thump thump thump* from large pulses is phenomenal]. The current recharge sound is a bit cheesy, and sounds thin, loud, and perhaps not electrical enough. I love sound design, and have a lot of ideas floating around. Some good inspiration here->
