This is actually some pretty old-school stuff - I think one of my old sourcebooks illustrates the usage of a sky pattern or reflective silver paint on the upper half of a 'mech as a "new" camouflage design circa the thirty-teens. I'll look it up when I get home.

I dig that pattern greatly.

With the right color schemes, its very concealing, and to me looks better than any of the other patterns I've seen.

This style of camo is not "lazy"; it's real. I know a lot of British armor used similar patterns in North Africa during WWII. It was designated as Caunter Scheme. Also included many colors most of you would laugh at and never realized was actually used. Such as "pink" and bright blues for the deep deserts.

For the record, the "Dazzle" pattern was used extensively on naval vessels (particularly Brit and US ships) during WWI and WWII.

This style of flauge is known as classic style.

Basically the idea is to have the area nearest the ground (the legs) colored respective to the terrain, the middle to the vegetation and the top to the sky/trees/foliage.

This is how people use to dress to hunt.

Dark/Medium/Light.
Bottom/Middle/Top.

Choosing colors that actually coordinate with real terrain generally helps.

I can see this working once we finally know what maps we are going into.

It is also a pattern that is usually described as being used by at least one FRR unit... the second freemen. I am also sure that all the people who have a tri-band flag will be happy.. like the Germans... =P

As an artist myself. Who has used RGB (and A, but they don't have that 4th channel in their shader here) blend maps. All I can say is> show us how it's done.

I actually like it. We were lacking a simple camo pattern until now. Also, it looks really nice on a Raven.

That's true. There is that big "We're Hiring" button down there.

I have to admit though that I was extremely disappointed with Pretty Baby. They've stopped paying attention to the lines of the mech and just seem to be slapping an overlay over the whole thing. I honestly presumed that Pretty Baby was the result of some producer letting their 12-year-old kid have a stab at art. I don't know if I should pilot it or hang it on the refrigerator.

looks cool on a Centurion if you paint the bottom and center all black and the top red or purple. Looks like a football player with a helmet and pads on lol
