Since Conquest is actually the combat game mode available and Assault is the capping game mode available can we swap the payout/reward models between these two? With the more tactical pace of capturing points in Conquest you end up with the game being settled by combat a lot of the time. More tactical options for setting up, holding or denying positions, setting ambushes and the like. The problem is that you will almost universally get less cash and XP payout for Conquest than an Assault match on the times when Assault actually ends in a fight and not a cap rush.

Rather than effectively punishing people for capping in Assault (far lower payout than even Conquest when someone caps for the win in Assault) why not just switch the reward models? Have the capture point XP bonus exist for both models to ensure that people in lights (who thanks to fixes in latency are getting a fraction of the XP they used to from combat) but swap the combat XP rewards from Assault to those in Conquest.

This way you can more effectively match players playstyles to the game modes. People play Assault because they want to fight but the game mode lends itself far more to quick and dirty cap-rush tactics. Not trying to get into a flame war over it but thats just the reality of it. Fighting in Assault tends to be brief brawls followed by cap rushes most the time. It's not a tactically rich fighting game mode.

Conquest, conversely, rewards taking 3 points and holding a position that allows you to try and deny the enemy access to one of them. Ambushes, flanking, there's more time to adjust team tactics on the fly even for pugs in chat. This makes it tend to play out in slower, more tactical and combat-heavy games even when the win/loss is determined by capture points.

People dislike Conquest though because unless you're a light you're going to make less cash and XP. Swap rewards and let people get rewarded for playing the game modes the way they are inherently going to get played. Currently the reward system punishes people for, essentially, playing tactically in either mode. Cap rush for Assault or combat tactics in Conquest.
