What would you call a guy who owned 12 mechs for personal use? What mechwarrior would own 5 much less 12? If I own 12 mechs ... why cant I buy a drop ship?

And if someone is kind enough to pay for my refit and rearm ... why wouldnt he top off my coolant while he was at it?

In MechWarrior 1 you couldn't own more than 12 'Mechs - said there was like, government regulations against it.

I call a guy that owns 12 or mechs a mercenary Company Commander. Although I suppose some of the Liao Warrior House nobles might own their own company. Or a Drac Yakuza boss.

I should start hiring and start my own merc unit.

2 Atlases (close)
3 Stalkers (close+allrange)
2 Cataphracts (sinpers)
1 Dragon (midrange)
1 Catapult (midrange)
1 Cicada (close)
2 spiders (scouts)

Looks like a real squadron.

Oh, I forgot to mention my hunchy and pretty babe. it's 14 ;)

I think we should consider us a mercenary company rather then a single mechwarrior. Note that you can play multiple missions at the same time with different mechs and the pilots would have to be different for each mech for that to work out.

I thought it was Bill Gates, 640 KB were all we'd ever need.

I'd probably call a guy who owned 12 mechs boss, 'cause he'd be running his own company most likely. I'd also call him "The guy with all the headaches", because he'd be responsible for keeping that company afloat financially, and mechs in the lore aren't cheap when it comes to repairs and upkeep. ;)

Me, I currently have the following in my bays:

AS7-D Atlas (Founders variant, stock)
STK-3F Stalker (near stock. Weapons identical to stock, Armor increased, Double sinks, Endo Steel)
AWS-8T Awesome (Modified to simulate an overweight ARC-2R Archer)
CTF-1X Cataphract (Modified to simulate a slightly underweight MAD-3R Marauder)
CPLT-C1 Catapult (Founders variant, stock)
FLAME Dragon (Modified to simulate a DRG-5K Grand Dragon)
DRG-1N Dragon (stock currently)
HBK-4G Hunchback (Founders variant, stock)
JR7-D Jenner (Founders variant, stock)
SDR-5V Spider (Maxed JJs, endo steel, double sinks, 2 x Medium Pulse Lasers)

Not quite a company, but you could make a unit out of that. The Jenner, Spider and two Dragons as a recon/fast strike lance, the Catapult and "Awrcher" as a half-strength Support/Fire lance and the Atlas, Stalker, Maraudaphract and Hunchback as the Command lance.

So I'm sitting on 44 mechs all ready to roll.

Three of each except the spiders, all awesomes, all cents.

Its not 45 because PGI pissed me off with this consumable crap.
