2x ssrm 4
2x LPL
Anti missile system
16 heat sinks
Arternis
Endo steel
STD engine 255

I must say this is the best config I have played with my founders Cat, I use him as a brawler normally just behind an atlas, I get around 500-700 damage per round and at least 1 kill and 3-4 assists.
Thoughts?

You are waisting hardpoints and you have low speed.
Try this instead:

300XL, endo, dhs and then:
2 SRM6, 2 PPC and 2 med lasers

And all that with nearly maxed armour (minus 3 points on each leg), 17 heatsinks and 2 jumpjets, which are quite useful.

You can switch PPC to ER PPC or to Large lasers, if you prefer.

-----------------
UPD: another possibility is to exchange 2 jumpjets to AMS + AMS ammo, for those who prefer defense over mobility.

Still can't wrap my head around the idea of not using C1 as an LRM boat.

Heh, I'm the same way. 2 Artemis LRM15s, 4 MLs, AMS, 300XL, max armor.

PPC and LRM skirmisher

Faster Madcat version

Also, you can run what you have now but with ERPPCs, and 2x ML with your SRMs. I would think it would be more effective.

That's OK, I use it strictly for a jumper build. 2 erppcs+1lrgpulse. Runs kinda hot, but very manageable.

Neat build. I'll have to try that.

Going to try that just the grind to get the xl engine will be hard :)
Oh and I have been using it as a lrm boat but boy it is boring so Iam going to make him into a brawler.
I just wish I opened up my email more often then I wouldnt have spent all my MC willy nilly (thought another wipe was due )

This is my version of MiniMadCat and it has been working out quite well for my play style:
XL300, 320 armor, DHS, Endo, 2LRM15, 2ERPPC, 2ML

It's not a sniper mech (you can if you want), you really want to accompany your friendly brawlers and keep your target more or less in sight and between 200~250 range. Against ECM Atlas, alternate-fire the PPCs to keep your lock.
320 armor is not a lot so use those ears as shields if you need to. Losing one or two of them is not a big deal since by then you probably used up a good amount of LRM ammo already.

It does need LRM launchers yes, but with all the ECM kiddies running around, I can't blame anyone for taking up more lasers to support the LRMs

Especially with Artemis making LRMs hit like an angry God right now.

Thankfully the C1 can carry it's own TAG.

I've had a great deal of success with this brawler C1 build - fast(71kph), maneuverable, sustains near constant fire, and can take a beating and still fight.

2x ML
2x MPL
2x SRM6 + Artemis
Anti missile system
20 dbl Heat Sinks
STD engine 260
1x Jump Jet

firepower: 52 heat Efficiency: 1.45 Armor - 336

imo Cats are too fragile(torso-centric) for XL engines unless it's standoff LRM boat hiding behind cover most of the time or an A1 streak/spat Cat - ymmv

Cats are one of the best chassis for XL engines even when brawling. Their side torsos are small, hence, most of the time you die from being cored anyway.

My pretty standard long range C1-F build has proved sturdy, and is still my primary mech. There's nothing wrong at all with just taking four medium lasers with your LRM's, but I have found that switching two out for an ERLLAS (missiles slow, sniping important) and a TAG works wonders. I also like to keep the jumpjets for jumpy firing solutions. Cover is so pesky.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...96112e0c23d71bc

I would suggest you get a larger engine (op). I can't leave home without an XL300. As others have also suggested when you have your XL engine you can get SRM6's for more punch and then something for longer range engagements. I'm a big fan of LLAS myself, backed up by a couple of MLAS.

I've seen a few cats running around recently with PPCs. (And I'm not talking about the K2s!) I guess with the heat fix and EMP effect it makes sense. Alpine also has something to do with it, I'm sure.

Yep. Dual Artemis 15s, 4 MPLs, 300 XL, Endo, 12 DHS, virtually max armor.

Although, I do occasionally swap things around and take out twin ERLLs, twin MLs, and dual SRM6s, just for a change of pace.
