With the introduction of training grounds, I have went on walkabouts just to enjoy the scenery. ( shift F11 and frolic in the purdy ) This has lead to a realization that the time we had been complaining about map size, we have a map with much more usable area. The H and I line behind drop ship are hilly and lots of coverage ( dose need 1 more path leading into/out of along the top end ) and the frozen lake/river/harbor area along the 7-8-9 line. I know Theta drop ship point is used on conquest, but this still is very limited and under utilized real estate. Maybe we could look into changing the drop ship locations to bring more of the map into play??

Side note, I would have posted map with charts and lines and 22 detailed graphs, but first you can not bring the battle grid up in training grounds (devs?) and second I'm lazy

Maps need Easter eggs to randomly find.

I found on alpine there is a mech transport with a shutdown atlas mounted in it. I thought it would be funny to either swap mechs or if you shoot it, it comes online and attacks everyone.

I agree the center of the map should not be the gravitational battle point. Down by the water is a huge area, just not a lot of cover so you'll get burned down by LRMs

As a scout pilot, I actually go down there fairly often to do a "trench run", and have admired the scenery as I cruise by. Frozen City is not the only map to have oft-ignored areas, but given the terrain and map layout, this area is the most strategically remote. On Forest Colony, the shipping crates behind the coastal spawn make for an interesting skirmish ground, and the hot springs by the refinery on Caustic Valley are probably the most alien terrain currently included. I haven't played enough on Alpine to really get a feel for it, but there's a lot of detail around the periphery that battle lines never see. Team Deathmatch, or a series of different base locations in Assault and Conquest, could encourage use of more of the map..
