Just wondering if any one else is experiencing frequent FPS drops, then FPS returns to normal after maybe 20 seconds or so.

I am having this issue.

I have already updated my video drivers. I have already deleted the Shaders folder.

I meet all of the system requirements.

Issue began after the most recent patch.

Perhaps. This is the only game that this happens on and it only began happening after the patch so I was merely curious.

This game relies heavily on the CPU and not so much the GPU. See if your processor is overheating. This also belongs in the Support area of the forums.

Might want to try disabling hardware acceleration in Adobe Flash. Open up a streaming application like Youtube and right click on the video, then select settings then display and uncheck hardware acceleration

Just for laughs I tried the adobe flash suggestion because I always have videos playing on my second monitor while I game. Needless to say it didn't work rofl.

Any how, my problem was due to intermittent overheating of my CPU which kicked on failsafe to reduce the CPU usage in order to drop the CPU temperature by about 20C. After the temperature stabilized, the CPU returned to normal function.

Fixed by altering my overclocking profile.

Wow... I was right. Tell me, is it a Duo Core?

Nope, but I am on stock cooling while overclocking my CPU. I have an FX4100. Works fine on every other game while OC but MWO gives it a heavier workout than they do. It caused a minor overheat.

Yeah, my old Duo Core was getting by with newer games by having a decent Video card and enough memory. MWO put it through the ringer so I upgraded and gave the other to my fiance. Now I typically get 50-60 FPS during serious fights and have had it hit 80 FPS from time to time when people are just walking around.

It is VERY cpu intensive.

Glad you found the issue.

yeah.. you need a quad core hyperthreading to really run this game right.

Does this game balance the load on multiple cores very well yet?
