The XL uses up too many side torso critical slots. I was fiddling in smurfys mechlab and figured you could get 2 AC20s on it if you strip the armor and dropped the engine to a 150-175 standard. You wouldn't have much ammunition though.

On the XL engine + Case note. PGI did say they would "do something" about CASE + XL engine. That something was disable ammo explosions in CASE equipped sections of mechs entirely.

Consequently, I "ammo bin" CASE+7 tons of ammo in a torso. Yes, it is tested and yes I do get critical hits to it and Betty politely informs me "LRM ammo - destroyed" and nothing happens except I loose some ammo.

Not really. But they will most likley arrive "last" so to speak once the other IC mechs have their version.

After all the founders mechs are not special in any way outside of the fact that you can not buy them and they have a boost to CBills. A hero mech always have a new layout.
