Your analogy isn't anywhere close to what happened. They wanted to do consumables, and wanted to do it in a way that got them money (though they didn't do it in the best possible way).

They gave us a preview of their system.

The forums exploded in understandable anger. We vented our frustrations. We posted our thoughts.

They obviously listened. For that I'm rewarding them with an MC purchase. No need to be cynical about the whole ordeal. :-)

You're acting with undue optimism.

Talk is cheap. If you reward an aggressor for merely listening to your grievances, you're in quite a sorry state indeed.

Thanx PGI, for listening and for solving it in a decent manner. I hope this is a sign of more to come. PGI doesn't have to obey every whim of us fans, but they should at least listen when there is a storm of voices.

Indeed good sir. I fail to see how PGi is an aggressor in this instance. Perhaps you're acting with undue pessimism?

Here are the facts:

They gave us a preview of a flawed consumable system.
We openly rejected it.
They changed their stance and gave us a better system.

If they were simply an aggressor I don't see why they'd even bother to change their stance (which, btw, they've done in the past back when they wanted to release Open Beta sooner than what many of us thought they should. We got them to change their stance on that too.)

Did we now? By a paltry two weeks? Or was it one?

The masses are easily placated.

You're still in War Mode. It's over, we won this one. Stand down, pilot; you can come home.

There's no need for another war either, because if they drop another bomb like this they're dropping it on themselves. They won't survive another major poochscrew. People won't be angry, they will be gone. If PGI doesn't know that by now then they deserve to fold up shop.
