Just you - Your missiles may not be hitting their mark or may be hitting different parts of the mech. Smaller groupings of missiles tend to fair better for accuracy and overall dmg, but the drawback is if you don't hold them on target you'll miss anyway and be back at square one.
Basically, if you are using an srm6 out of 6 tubes, your spread will be high. Out of 2 tubes, you will be pretty darn precise but have to make sure you're a surgeon with tracking to make sure all 6(3 sets of 2 missiles) can hit the area you target. I like srm2s and srm4s more than srm6s.

they are one of if not the strongest weapons in the game.
I use 3 on both my CN9-A and As7-d-dc and I wouldnt replace them for anything.
You just cant beat the amount of damage they put out per ton.
(the above are my opinions, not fact)

Even 1xSRM6 can be devastating to the back of an enemy mech. 2-3 volleys usually takes care of it. Its just getting to that spot that can be tricky.

Until the LBX 10 gets a buff I will always contend that SRMs are overpowered.
Both of them are an area damage shotgun, except lbx weighs a lot more and takes more critical spaces while doing less overall damage than srm 6.
