This was always an issue before but now it has grown dramatically worse. Atlai with ERPPCS playing sniper? Ravens that will not run into the enemy rear? Cataphacts thinking they are Catapults?
This is silly, the sheer cowardice is going to drive me to a teamspeak server and my fellow PUGS should be ashamed.
lol ... they are probably complaining because it is becoming more difficult to destroy mechs on the other team because folks are learning to play and not rush in blindly
Sarcasm doesn't work well in text ... but I am suspecting this is sarcasm

They got rid of that a few patches ago, if you drop out and your mech gets killed after, you still get credited with the death.

As far as taking cover and giving a bit more consideration to movement this is a good thing, I enjoy the tension and maneuvering and people working together (pug or not). Admittedly though it's a hard fit with my gaming choices as I game in the same manner as the anagram behind my name suggest.

I agree. You just need to accept that I am superior to you because.....um, because I'm a founder / a non-founder / drive a cheesemech / don't drive a cheesemech / PUG / don't PUG / hate PGI / support PGI. One of those. The point is, I'm better than you.
Oh, and here's a meme I lifted from 4chan (unless reddit is the cool place to get them these days) to show that I'm totally not emotionally invested in this topic, despite posting on it so much, and to imply that you are emotionally invested to a degree where I can mock you (and be better than you, that's very important). Now that I've got my parting shot off, I think it's time to call for things to get back on topic so that if you post after this, you look like you care overmuch, which is bad.

I am looking at buying the 3C which I think is the faster one with 2x LRM15 + Artemis and no jump jets. Just need to save the c-bills now.

Sounds like you are doing a fine job in a support role which is what the mech is fit for. If those lights are keeping target for your LRM they are doing their job as well.

As far as missile boating goes, I suggest a Stalker. Mostly because my LRM boat stalker absolutely smashes treb LRM boats.

Nah, boating is not for me. The LRM's are there to soften up the front line before I get in close to help out my lance mates. I usually get a kill or at least heavy damage and then 4 ML's do wonders helping to mop up anyone else that engages us, especially from about 200m out.
A Stalker boat that's being circle strafed by two lights is usually too concerned with defending itself or getting back to their lance to worry about me smashing it with LRMs from 400m out anyway.

You never see this type of behaviour in Conquest games, which is why I love them.

You know your with a bad crew when your driving a Cat-C1 and everyone is following you. Way too many Support mechs in pugs these days, no frontliners, no assaults, no blitzrieg, just ******* hinding in cover.
Although it is such a relief when you running with 3-5 others that decide to break the line and charge at them friggin LRM boats.
Battles aren't won by those the hiding in their castles. Battles are won by bold and timely maneuvers.

Welcome to MWO. This game is all about focusing firepower; unless you can coordinate an entire pub team to go over the wall simultaneously there's not much you can do. First Mech over dies, period, because he's instantly going to grab the attention of all enemy Mechs the moment he becomes targetable. Even flanking moves are pretty pointless. Any Mech fast enough to flank isn't going to have the firepower to silence a target before he can get help from his team, who're all going to stream to you once you're on radar.
Unlike in Conquest mode where there are capture points that tend to draw teams apart to capture or protect flags, there's no such encouragement in Assault mode. There's simply no reason to do anything but sit and wait for someone on the enemy team to screw up and get himself killed by going over the wall.

I will skip the frak you that you deserve because you are working entirely from assumption. I want tactics (strategy does not exist at this level), I do not want the weenies hiding in the assault boats at Normandy rather than hitting the beaches.
Thanks, my last match was 5 kills 3 assists in my assault sniper boat..... think I'll ignore you, give my team long range cover and stick to my game plan.

Sounds pretty boring to me. I know when we're on TS we have alot of fun pulling cool maneuvers. Its just that when I do PUG now and then, there quite a few *******, but MWO has always and will always have that I guess. I just feel for Kylere for starting this topic, and I wish to would never see another "support" Atlas, or 3 ECM lights with 0 damage.

It is pretty boring. 3/4 Assault games that I accidently play (forgetting to set it to Conquest only) usually revolve around both teams hiding behind cover waiting for the other team to mess up by one dude getting too bored and rushing into immediate death. Essentially whichever team has the weak link there loses.
It's frightfully boring. Conquest is completely different.

Sorry, but I was a soldier. I did Basic, AIT, PLDC and BNCOC. I held the rank of SSG in the United States Army.
Tactics is one thing, cowardice is NOT a tactic. So, Mr. "Thousand of matches" let me tell you directly that playjng dumb thousands of times teaches you nothing. One thing you fail to grasp is that I play to win, not to wait for a shot to get a kill and call it even.
Soooo how many giant robots did you pilot during your time in army and how many missions did you acomplished on alien planets?
