One note about the back of mechs. When time permits, try to aim for the side rear torsos rather than the center. The reason is three-fold. First, the amount of armor in the rear side torsos of most mechs is very low. Second, if you take out a side torso, the mech loses that torso, any weapons and ammo (which may cause an ammo explosion) and also loses the use of the arm on that side. It's one way to severely damage a mech very quickly. Third, if the mech has an XL engine, taking out the side torso means that the engine is destroyed, which means that the mech is destroyed.
