So we are finally going to get to paint our hero (and founders?) mechs! This I am 100% behind and think will lead to some very Bad@$$ looking mechs roaming the battlefield, but I have a few concerns as well.

1. Will the colors of said mech be unlocked to us since we bought the hero mech? I.E YLW white and YLW red? (i feel we should get these)

2. If those colors are not unlocked and i change them on my mech will I be able to revert the camo back to default? (but again i feel we should be granted those colors)

3. Will we be able to use that camo spec on other mechs of the same model? I.E use Fang on a Dragon-5n? (would be cool but i doubt it)

so how do you guys feel this should work. what are your ideas both for this system and what and how will you paint your Heroes?

EDIT: on a side note PGI I am willing to bet it would improve Hero sells if players knew they would get unlocked colors and camo from buying a hero mech, just my 2cbills

I agree that I feel it will improve sales of Hero Mechs.

As for details, we'll probably just have to wait.

I think the hero skins should stay on the hero mech. But if I want to change my flame's colors to all white with a gold dragon on that mech I should be able to. And I agree that the original hero skin should also mean that you bought and unlocked the colors in that skin.

Hero skin should *definetly* also include the unlocked color. Would help justify me buying more mechs later too

ok so i take it you think we should't be able to use the skin on another dragon but what about taking it off flame for say tiger camo?

EDIT: oh yes i forgot to say that white and gold flame would look pretty awesome

I don't know how it will work on hero mechs but on regular mechs when you paint them, you can load two colors onto each slot. When you paint a new mech, the old green color gets pushed to the square under the new color. You can then switch between the colors simply by clicking the color square then. It's a good way to load two color patterns and switch easily.

ok that would work to let us go back to default paint scheme, but what if all i wanted to do was invert the colors on my YenLoWang but I don't own a white?

no. The hero mech is a hero mech and from a distance, even before we lock on and get the mechs make and model, we should be able to distinguish between if its a hero mech or normal variant. And the only way to do that is by its skin. The hero mechs should always keep the same skin on but allow for the skins colors to be changed. And a hero skin should never be allowed to be put on a non hero mech.

Now I don't quite disagree with you on this however I am on the fence about it... I just love to paint and repaint my mechs and it is hard at times to justify buying the camo for most mechs imho

So think very carefully before you make any changes.

(this is based on how the founders skin worked.)

I don't think the pattern should be exactly like the hero mech, but maybe a version that is based off of the original? Maybe for the YLW and centurions they could have the sun on a different part of the mech with less, bigger, stripes so that just by looking you can still tell the difference.

For colors: YES! I think it should be limited to the same chases though.
exp: TDK Shiny Blue can only be used on your Commandos.

Your reason being? There's no massive visual indicators of most other variants, why should there be one for Hero mechs? Because they get extra Cb? Are you of the opinion that they are somehow advantaged, in game, as an entire group? Personally, I feel it's part of the mech and should stay, but it's for purely aesthetic reasons. You seem to feel that the opponents deserve some kind of heads-up that they are looking at a Hero mech, which is entirely different, and I'd like to know why.
