I have been playing alot of Ravens and have the typical 3L that everyone hates, my 4X runs Mechine Guns and Flamers, but as for the X2... Im a little stumped. I couldn't fit any PPC realistically but i thought going the other way might work. Has anyone attempted this style of Fast LRM boat. I realise there is no Las on this build but Im hopeing that after Im out of ammo, Im also out of enemys... or just fill the role as bait. I could swap the LRM 20 with a 15 if i can get Pew Pew for back up.

I wouldn't consider it a good build, but the 2X has to run LRM10+art->15 or higher to be worthwhile.

You'll need to carry TAG for sure on an LRM mech.

PS AMS is terrible, and you need to bring at least 10 heatsinks to use a mech (ie you have to have one external HS).

Also for more LRMS!

My son runs LRMs on his commando and has fun as a fast LRM launcher, so anything is possible. It all really depends on your play style and what you are having fun with. I say, give it a run if you already own the chasis (or if you need it to finish the basics for ravens). You probably already have the LRM launchers laying around anyway....

Once I have the C-Bills i think this will be the way to go.

RVN-2X LRM15 Artemis + 2x Med Puls

It should allow for both speet manuvrability and both extreme long and short range firepower. The Pulse Las kick in the exact range the LRM's get armed at.

espcially with how fragile lights have become long range is more viable than ever for lights.

I think the plan will be mobile LRM, being able to support the team at max range and still alittle harass at short. Cind of a hybid light capable of actually doing REAL damage to the heavys out there.

This is unlike my only other LRM mech which is my ECM Atlas who just stands in the middle of the map shooting anything that pops their head out without concerns for being shot at all.

I love this kind of Atlas in my 2xER PPC/LRM stalker.

I havent got the engine yet, but below is the current set up. Oh did i mention it WORKS, my end of map damage has increased by 100 on average useing this set up. Its got more fire power than my other scouts and can close the distance to deal harass.

Just an important note. When faceing a Cat in a stand off at 160m... NEVER put the mech in reverse to launch the LRM's thinking you can then floor it forward to close the distance before the Cats massive LRM barrage is armed. Whoops... that was an instant death due to stupidity (ok i was hurt at the time).

Once the engine is in place i will loose my cooling ability but speed will keep me alive in close.

RVN-2X Hybrid LRM

Oh and Vilda, unless your Stalker has a ECM, its just another target. And anything fireing LRMs are always the prioity target unless an ECM mech is a viable target. Im not saying its perfect, but its something that has been working for me.

Below I have Raven 3-L (in a joke LRM build), my 4X AC-20 Raven with 6 tons of ammo, and my 2X twin PPC Raven.

The very first LRM 20 Raven. Predates the only other one on youtube. Attempted the very day the Raven 3-L came out.

When it comes to an LRM Raven, honestly LRM-10s to 15s will give you the most bang for your buck. Keep them in the torso launcher. "Single shot" LRMs are easily taken out by AMS as AMS appears to shoot down every single missile when fired like that. It is a great way to wear down enemy AMS, though.

"Realistic twin PPC build" Before heat reductions in PPCs. From beginning to see my 2 Raven builds (2x, 4x).
Start at 5 minutes exactly for a strategic battle of Zhizhu versus Zhizhu in full 16 player synch-drop.
11:25 for when I am an active part of the action (instead of pot-shot and poof).

"This is a pain. All they have to do is one LRM-5 and I'm dead."

And since I've posted a couple of great AC-20 Raven videos over and over, here's the less viewed ones that are still good. Both of these two videos contain two matches.

In this second one, the twin AC-20 Ravens were assigned to escort a Gauss Catapult. Sadly he isn't much of a team player and kept going off on his own.

If you liked what you saw or found it helpful, please consider liking the videos or at least this post to encourage others to check them out. Thanks!

I have a Joke build Raven 4X with a twin Flammer and Mechine Gun combo. Its more a annoying fly that sticks on the heavys and assults to keep them occupied while my teamates kill then. I get a couple of shut downs from it and blow off arms etc but its not a Mech that will get a kill by itself. I had been toying the idea of a large balistic varient of the 4X and that has opened my eyes on that is possible.

As for the double PPC Raven i was thinking about doing this once i have the money. Im enjoying the Ravens and its not just the ECM EL that is a great drive but all varients are a blast for me. When i jump in my Atlas it just feels like I am trying to dirve a 1940's Battleship.

It will be fun to turn up on the battlefield with something you wouldnt expect from such a small mech. I will have to watch ammo consumption and heat from both of these.

I've seen that build, Y2KHippy. I'm not brave enough to do that with a Raven 4x. But I today I made a flamer 3-L with SRM-4's. Was getting better scores than my 3 small pulse 2 streak build so I think I'll keep it.

Check out the vids in Flamers? here on the player help forums for how I keep the flamers running constantly without shutting down. (I won't openly say it but just looking at how they are set up in the weapon groups will let you know).
