I'm at 73,000 MC so far, not counting any of the refunds done with the customization changes. I don't mind spending money on games I enjoy, and I usually spend most the money early on when I am most enthusiastic about the game. I know the wisest thing to do is WAIT to spend money because all the flaws and problems aren't always immediately obvious when you are learning the game, but I don't see it that way.

This isn't an investment, I'm not expecting a return. It's purely for enjoyment/entertainment, and to me, putting the money in when the game is most enjoyable makes it worthwhile to me.

I don't expect the game to evolve as only I see fit because I've spent money, my opinions and priorities for how the game should be are to be treated no different than a free players. I don't pay because I think I'll be more important, or have a louder voice. I pay because I want to, because I enjoy the game, because I want to support the developers.

The game I've spent the most money on is Path of Exile, which I spent $1,000 on to be a Diamond Supporter.

$30 on MC and that's it. I've bought a bunch of mech bays for additional Cicadas and Awesomes. I don't think that it is bad to spend whatever you feel is reasonable on MC as long as you're having fun. As someone that has played nothing but subscription based games, at $15/month, since 1999, I'd say that only $30 is pretty damned cheap.

I've only spent a little of my founder's MC. Enough to buy a mech and paint it.
I prefer to wait until the game is more polished and closer to a finished product.
Don't take that as me saying I don't like the game, I love the game and play as often as my job, wife, and children allow. I just prefer to see what else they come out with before I spend my hard earned money.
So far I've spent $60 on this game. I did it because I've been waiting for many years for somebody to revive the MW franchise and I thought it would be cool to get in to closed beta. It took me about two weeks to feel like I got my money's worth. If PGI went bankrupt today and shut down the servers I would not feel like I wasted my money. I'd be very disapointed though.

Beings it looks like my balance stops at January and I spent plenty the last few months I guesstimated so it might be a little low but Im quite invested in this game (Several hundred dollars). I debated with a guy that about it being an investment and it came across as I was not getting anything monitary in return that it wasnt. Sorry but putting anything into my enjoyment and entertainment is an investment.

I have not been able to train in fighting for 4 months (Starting again next week thankfully) due to some built up injuries. I spend $145.00 a month to get my *** kicked and people think thats crazy. So throwing 15-30 a month on here isnt crap. Hell a few of you probably smoke or drink a bunch and thats known to kill you to and Im sure your spending twice as much on that form of entertainment (Cough Real Consumables) as i do on MWO, yet you think its insane for a game.

This game as been great, I've enjoyed it and I've spent most of my Founders MC on stuff. I'll buy more MC routinely. The game is still going forward in a positive direction and I have confidence that PGI will get us to the finish line.

This company has the crappiest attitude I have seen in the industry for some time.

They get no more of my money.

Funny I thought quite a few people here had the Crappy Attitudes.

I supported PGI. Then they used the money on their other crap games. I'm done supporting until I get some sort of assurance that won't happen again.

Something on the order of 140,000 MC.
I added up the cost, including Founders and it is close to $1000 dollars.

And no, I don't regret it, and yes,
I still think that this game is NOT P2W...In fact I am living proof you cannot buy a win or a kill in this game. Skill counts!

As I read the posts of people in here, I see that I am either not very demanding or just plain stupid (my wife votes the later)

39125MC. It may look like I spent it all on 'Mechs and mechbay slots, but in spirit, I am paying for the marvelous artwork of Alex Iglesias, which keeps me coming back to this website... Patiently waiting..

Patiently...

...Waiting...

for Battlemech 20.

I forget where the article was, but they're working on a Battletech turn based browser game and a MOBA. They used founders money to help keep those projects going instead of hiring new developers for MWO.

MW Tactics has it's own Founder program going. Logically it would make sense to push those along to the point they could make money so that there's less "dead weight" sitting around. Either way I'm fairly happy here. Faster would be nice but I plan on living forever anyway.

Oddly enough I have barely spent any MC compared to some here it seems. I guess I'm just indecisive and frugal because otherwise I do like the game.

I put sixty dollars US into this game, because the Founder pack was an AMAZING DEAL.

I still have around 6300MC left.

I want more things that will eventually require more payments - like XP conversions - but I won't buy more MC as is. I paid 60 dollars for MWO, and I'm getting my money's worth.

When CW comes out, and this turns into a game worth 6.95 a month, then I'll start buying MC. Right now I can't support it.

I don't feel bad - I did my part. Plenty of people here didn't buy in anything and play more than I do.

Roadhouse Interactive is not PGI. Its called Mechwarrior Tactics. Funny my name is all about misinformation, yet here you are giving others who do little research something to flame about that's false. Do you work for HAWKEN?

wow! i can't believe how much some of you have spent on this game.

I've bought 0 MC and have spent 0 of my founders MC. If I come across anything I think is worth it, I guess I would spend it, but I have absolutely no intention of spending any more on this game. Part of that is I'm just cheap, other is I don't think it's worth it anymore. Also I just try to not support microtransactions as much as possible, as they are definitely ruining games.

That may be good for the company in the short term, but it's bad for the customer and that's bad for the company long term.

I have plenty of money and I'm not shy supporting things I like, but that doesn't mean I want to support a product I'm not interested in.

I actually was really excited for a turn based Battletech game like MegaMek with a nice client, the details killed it for me though. Random items and mechs, browser client, bleah.

Infinite Game MechWarrior Online's publisher, will use the funding to support MechWarrior Online and the two other titles Infinite has in the works: MechWarrior Tactics and the not-at-all-related to Sins of a Solar Empire project, Sins of a Dark Age."

29.5k including founders, got some spare bays and all the hero mechs I wanted with coin leftover for xp exchange and paintjobs as needed.

The cash cost is offset by the amount of actual non-grind entertainment time I get, spending £20 on something I'll spend 100's of hours enjoying seems like a bargain compared to a few drinks or couple of trips to the cinema it'd buy otherwise.

Also doesn't hurt to support the people working to improve this game...if only they'd bring out some more awesome hero mechs hint hint ££$$££$$

IGP Is a friggin PUBLISHER! Do you know what that means. Holy crap really. Do you read books? Guess what a "Publisher" doesn't generally put all their money on one author. PGI is developing the the game and IGP is funding it. That means they get a cut and can do whatever they want with "Their" money.
