I performed a quick search of the forums but I didnt see anything that matched my suggestion. If this thread is a repost or has been suggested earlier let me know, I am sure you all will ;)

I would like to suggest for future release : Online Mechlab

- Form and function similar to the current mechlab
- C-bill totals with current and future weapons/equipment
- Painting (?)
- Ability to log into your account to work on your currently active mechs
- Export/linking to support sharing of any specs players generate

- Ripvan

I feel there is a lot of options for the Devs to take in bring some of the game functions out of the game. First things first they need to work on an API, I don't expect this kind of functionality for a good while down the road. I'd rather they focus on the API first so team can get their stats. Something even like killboards from EVE Online might be cool too.

I think expanding the API's would be an awesome idea so everyone has access to their stats. Still, a simple webapp for the Machlab would be nice, adding on functionality later to pull your mechs into the application so you can customize them.

I guess I see it all like the talent trees from all the popular RPG games out there.

Well even for the MechLab to work, if you want it to be live data, that connects to your in game character they have to have an API in place to do that. So that would be non public. A public API could feed people states to place on their websites and such. Kind of off topic, but taking this to the extremes, I'd love to see a touch enabled 'Battlegrid' for iOS/Android tablets.

Sitting in a coffee shop, editing mech loadouts in the mechlab, on an iPad or smartphone...

New level of geekdom! I want to do this!

I'm honestly surprised to see the limited response to this idea. I think it would give folks something to do while waiting for release. As well it would bring in new people if it was advertised well.

Oh well. :D
