Mech Design Balances

I'm curious if we'll see any redesigns of already-released mechs. Mechs like the Awesome and the Catraphract have huge disadvantages in the fact that they are giant walking torsos. When you compare them to designs in their weight-class it becomes obvious that there is a bit of a problem.

While I am inclined to agree with you that certain mechs are at a complete disadvantage because of their physical size. But that is only in the current system where every weapon you wield all hits the same location.

If you removed weapon convergence, then that huge CT isn't always being hit constantly. This is the reason why the Raven is so hard to kill because most of the fire that hits the mech is spread across the all the torso locations. This adds a ton of survivability.

Would you rather go though 80 points of slow moving (relative to the Raven) and only hit the CT or go through 80 spread across 3 sections on a fast moving mech (relative to the Awesome)?
