I'm a bit confused as why the beta is following a 1:1 timeline still....

Or is it?

Why would one of the biggest story elements of the game be released during beta? I would rather see the clans come in the far future and let the factions battle it out for a year like it was originally intended.

Rushing through the most major event in the battle tech universe while the game is still in beta just sounds like a mistake.

Would it really hurt the game to "pause" the 1:1 timeline while the game remains in beta?

As I stated, I'm not sure the game is still following the 1:1 timeline, but I hope it's not...

Well, if we are then clans should be making contact very soon, and the invasion isn't too far off. Considering there are IS mechs that aren't even out of concept yet, it's possible that the timeline could be changed.

The problem with waiting on the clans is that:

A) A lot of people are willing to spend real money on them.
There are a lot of good IS mechs that come out after the clan invasion (like the Bushwacker :3).

Simple, because "Open Beta" is actually Launch for Free to Play games. So the game is actually "Launched" which is why you can spend real money on it, there will be no server wipes and we are following a coherent timeline with the fluff. Someday when PGI IGP get finished putting in, balancing and polishing all their core features they will quietly remove the beta tag... maybe.

I think it will be frozen/reset/changed other way, I remember in some of the early Interwievs they were expecting to release game in 2012,so clans would invade after release, well they have missed many deadlines, why not this one too? I think they will draw back timeline to 3049 and froze it until release(only my opinion)

The clans have attacked. There is a media blackout. They dont actually invade the Inner Sphere tell 3050. We can not see actual clans for several months/year and still be in the timeline.

We're in the 3050 right now. It's March 3050, which means Wave 1 of Operation Revival is ramping up. Clan officially invaded the Periphery in August, so we're already "under attack." Jade Falcon will take Summerset in May, along with other high profile worlds.

The game is in 3050 right now

Anyway, they'll have to announce a freeze or release some clan stuff soon. I'm not a big lore guy but as I understand it, the IS is fully aware the clans have invaded by March. Don't the Dracs get full on invaded or something?

Even after the Clan invasion starts it takes a while before the IS guys even get close to using clan tech. Which is what I think a lot of people are forgetting.

cause if they don't deliver clan mechs they'll lose half of the player base and the game will fail?

1st you wont be able to pilot any clan mech or use any clan tech befor 2015
2nd CW will release in November/December this year
3th beta tag will be remove in January/February 2014
4th the only thing you will be able to do is join a PGI/IPG faction house that they will control or join a merc corp.
5th we will be able to fight for planet control and gain a % of c-bill according to the number of planet controled by specific faction/house
6th Merc corp. will fill out the missing space of house/faction battle
7th clan are the enemy

8th if clan become playable then it will be IS vs clan and the clan will beat evrey one until comguard(PGIIGP) stop them

IT'S going to be a CLAN domination allover with the IS getting there *** kick for years to come

You know they do not have to release anything "soon" or otherwise.

WE will not be able to play clan mechs any time soon either deal with it quit crying about stupid things and move on please.

They may around March 20-22nd have a ISN or a ComStar about the clans beginning their invasion but really what in your right minds even makes you think the clans will be playable soon with the invasion here and now?

Since lore is being followed and since CW is not in yet we are IS people only deal with that thought for now and understand that IS doesn't get clan tech for a couple years from now and even then it is very limited.

Will we get clan mechs? YES they have stated so.
Will we get them right now without even phase 1 of CW? (magic 8 ball says) HA HA HA, NO!!!

I know common sense is one of the most lacking things in society so much so it needs to be renamed uncommon/rare sense because a lot of people lack a quarter of a individual thought anymore.
