Anything To Do About Trolling Players Yet?

So, a little bit ago I went into a match, like some of us may occasionally do. Everything's fine and dandy, I'm relaxed and eager to see how my current loadout does. Player list vanishes, mech powers up, and I look over my allies and wait to see how the group decides to move.

Then some guy hits me in the back with his lasers. I ignore it, figuring his finger just slipped. Then he does it again. And again. This guy [REDACTED] ran around taking pot-shots at the team, apparently just for the giggles.

So, my question. It's a beta, so I'm not expecting too much here, but is there anything that players can do when somebody on the team is actively trolling, or just going out of their way to be useless? Aside from [REDACTED], I'm also thinking of the occasional player who jumps into a match and then spends their time AFK in the base.

Not quite unrelated : I see a "Blocked" listing in the social tab of the game launcher, but no way to actually add a player to it. How do I use that?

When someone shoots at you, you shoot back. There's nothing else you can do.

The blocked listing is those whose friend invitation you declined. The game apparently treats them as blocked then.

Make some screenshots and report the *****.
Use the support section from your profile.
To be able to do screen shots you have to install some kind of 3rd person program.

You mean 3rd party program. There is no such thing as third person in MWO.

Important note: Name & Shame is against CoC ("This guy...")

*sigh* you can do screenshots w/o any third-party program. Third-party programs can facilitate it, though.

Step-by-step:
  • alt-enter (to exit fullscreen)
  • alt-printscreen (copy screen content into clipboard)
  • paste into any graphics program (e.g. mspaint)

One of multiple reasons why I record every match.
Just report him and don't violate PGI's rules yourself by calling out other pilots in the forums.

just ran into the same guy...apparently he's been doing this all day long?

sent in ticket...but its rather pointless...as some other cheeser pointed out...with the bonus for new players they can just create a new account and quickly get a nice mech after about 20 matches

it's ridiculous at this point that they dont have any in-game reporting mechanism or an automated system to monitor for people racking up teamkills

i dont like wasting time doing their job...after already wasting my time playing with these "people"

I think I ran into someone like that. A tbt on our team was randomly targeting and firing at us. First I thought just a new nimrod who skipped the training grounds/tutorial videos until I saw it actively chase our only raven and fire at it while taking enemy sniper and lrm fire. We lost two mates to the rouge before we all went hostile against it then got destroyed by the opposing force.

Like its been said above the only two things you can do is report it to pgi after the match and defend yourself during the match. Still a pain in the *** to see and read about since there is a lot of information on the site on how to control your mech I hardly ever take ff unless I do something stupid during the battle or have one of those jerks drop with me.

^^ That exactly...

^^ Do not follow that advice... if someone is griefing you (Team Damage/TK'ing) during a battle, record and submit a report to support. By retaliating and "defending yourself during the match" you become just as bad as the griefer and can face punishment as well if reports are filed against you...

Leg him and leave him to the crows. Announcing position on <All> optional.

Which both options are forms of griefing and leave you open to possible punishment by Support if you are reported. Not very good advice to hand out.
