Yes, but with a change: No "Warning: Targetting" announcement, just a soft "Beeboop". I liked knowing when I was targetted, but I hated Betty's bitching.

Really, all the warning did was make me scream "FROM WHERE!?" at it, rather than screaming "FROM WHERE?!" after getting my *** ventilated.

It would be only useful as a module for some sort of special "sensor awareness".

The poll is bad as it cannot be multiple options... (checkboxes = multiple options, you want the circles for one choice).

The vocal warning was very irritating. It would be better as a cockpit light or something using one of the many blank cockpit monitors.

Just an icon off to the side and a chime or beep would do me. I don't need to hear Betty's voice every 2.25 seconds.

Nay. Definitely nay.

It was extremely annoying and mostly unhelpful. It was also very bugged, or people were using hacks, because it was well documented that mechs would get targeted even when not in LOS or even in proper range of another mech.

However, my biggest pet peeve was how it further penalized an actual scouting and spotting role for light mechs.
Already too many people try to use Lights as front liners, even as brawlers. This 'feature' didn't bother them, but anyone who piloted a light in order to actually scout and spot was suddenly hugely nerfed since the enemy would know the minute you targeted them.

For a while I've had plans to build up and master a Spider 5D for the express purpose of scouting for my team.
At most, it would have 2 MLAS... but the idea was to stay out of sight and truly scout. This included actually targeting enemy mechs in order to determine their loadout and inform my team. I would also provide TAG support.
This idea swiftly died the minute this feature went live.

Many people already had enough reasons NOT to scout with a light mech, and this just sealed the deal.

Even if you didn't WANT to target an enemy mech, you often did anyway as soon as your crosshairs hovered over them for a couple seconds.

So yes.... overall, I am HUGELY glad it's gone and I hope to god it never comes back. :D

Make it a BAP feature or just make a little warning light in the cockpit for lock ons.

Id say make it an ability for BAP to detect if you targeted.

no it was a terrible idea that was at best annoying and at worst hindered scouting/spotting effectiveness
