Seeing as how CW is bound to come sooner or later, we're going to need some new maps for all those diverse ecosystems on all those different planets.

And I say we chip in to help PGI out with maps!

Caustic Mine:

A large abandoned strip mining site on the same planet as caustic valley.

Forest River:

A large forest map divided by a large river big enough that the wrecked ship on forest colony could have traveled it

River city Downtown:

Tall skyscrapers,narrow (to a battlemech) streets and some open plazas and parks .

I seriously want a downtown city map, all intersections and alleys with building taller than mechs.

That's my biggest gripe with River City.

It feels like a model city, not a real one, the layout isn't even realistic.

And I know someone's gonna go
Durr hurr realism in mech game derp

But realism in urban design is what really adds to immersion.

I mean for gods sake the urban maps in MW4 were better than River City.

Me too. Or a large cave system with narrow halls and cavernous rooms, kinda almost like the underground factory campaign from mechwarrior 3

With snow and ice hudreds of meters tall, fillin the streets. Then there were streetlghts, and I had to laugh some.

Volcanic Cavern- dark twisting cave system with lots of side paths and larger open chambers- don;t get too close to the walls though- that lava on the other side is pretty hot. ((oops kinda what BertyBargo just said))

Alpine City- a large city built in the middle of the alpine peaks as a one time vacation resort city. take cover among the buildings on your way up the ski slopes to the other side to get to the other base or try one of the long winding paths around the mountain peaks and hope the other team isn't very fast.

Frozen Desert- visit this mars-like enviorment with constant sandstorms to cloak you and your enemies with gritty sand doomed to slow down even the swiftess mechs (speed reduction 10% for all mechs?) and old eroding dormant volcanos and small ancient dried up riverbeds and gulleys provide the only cover from enemy fire

I would love a large urban map with huge skyscrapers, buildings and highways. Not something that looks like a beefed up version of legoland.

I want a jungle map .... and some serious Phys-X destructible environment...


But hey we desperately need a map pack called: River city - from dusk till dawn.

One map has the sun east, the other one has it west :(

And of course river city night is on a completely different planet than river city.
The company that planned the place sold the same blueprints to Kurita and Steiner. :(

Some great ideas here;

I'd like to see something with some parks, some large structures, surrounded by more densly packed urban area - think along the lines of Washington DC.

This would be doubley awesome if it came at the same time as destroyable building too!

I personally would love a map the size of Alpine that was one entire city. The outer edges would be suburb type slowly building to the central district in the middle complete with skyscrapers, cranes etc etc.
