So as we all know there is a problem with the game freezing, and in order to free yourself you need to ctrl+Alt+Delete. However, it's been happening to me AND my friends in the same game, and we both run the same Nvidia cards....Perhaps the 600 series the only one affected??

What cards do you guys run who have this freezing problem?

Yeah It's the latest patch that's done it. Newest driver was released before Alpine patch, which is when it started happening.

***Enabling Vsync has stopped the crashing for me.

*nods* Try enabling VSync as mentioned. Also if you are using anything such as MSI Afterburner, Galaxy XTremeTuner or EVGA Precision make sure that everything is set to stock performance settings, fan speed excluded of course.

If you are into the OC'ing thing then from there make small adjustments at a time and see how things work. For some reason I have found MWO to crash out in the aforementioned fashion with an OC'd video card on what are otherwise entirely stable settings through many many hours of benchmarking/stress testing.

Edit:

Note: I am in no way encouraging or recommending any overclocking attempts by non experienced users. Adjusting these settings without knowledge of what you are doing can be hazardous to the health/performance of your system/video card and in no way should be attempted unless you know what you are doing.

Started having freezes on previous patch, Vsync solved that problem. Haven't tried without after enabling it, no real need to for me.

660 ti. Drivers 306.96 & 314.07 both affected, at least for me.

This has been happening since feb 5th patch. Tried v sync and it doesnt work for my gtx 680. Also tried changing the performance graphics in win 7 . Didnt work either. I think it effects ati cards also. Still i persevere as i like the game. It hardly happened before the feb 5th patch so they must be trying something different .

Yeah, it's the latest game patch. Vsync has fixed it though.

GTX 560 Ti. Happens to me also. Strangely, played for 3 hours Tuesday with only one crash, but today it is every 2nd game or so.

Not running anything extra/boosters/enhancers, or OC'ing.

Will try the Vsync option and edit this with results in a couple hours.

EDIT: got about 8 games in and 2 training grounds runs, no crashes since setting Vsync on. Will report back if anything changes.

(PS: Had previously updated all drivers etc, still crashed)

I have the GTX 660 Ti and have not had any problems like what you describe. Are you on the latest drivers? If so, consider rolling back a bit. Conversely, if you are on older drivers consider bumping them up.

Oh, just saw the post that says VSync fixes it - no wonder I never noticed, I always use that :)

Yeah, all drivers are up to date. it's been happening more frequently with this last 3/19 driver though...
