Well, it's the same Mechwarrior / Battletech brand, so it is.

Only in terms of the game universe. Other than that, the game is completely different and takes place in a different time period. It's like saying Medal of Honor and Brothers in Arms are the same game because they both are FPS shooters during WW2.

Games are related only in universe they occur in.

Time line is also very different Ie mw4 is if I remember right the fedcom civil war. We are a lot earlier in the time line.

It is the next game in the mechwarrior series but no real relation.

mechwarrior is based on the battletech story lines which come from about 60 novels and massive amounts for source books.

go to this site http://www.battletech.com/
there is some overview docs on there for the universe mechwarrior is based on.

Also below is a unoficial wiki for battletech universe. Again loads of info on every faction in the universe. And trust me there is a LOT more then in either of these games

If you liked MW4, you'll probably like MWO more. Sure there's still some things that need some balance tuning, but overall I think its a better experience at the core.

Wrong - You missed the Forest Map (Lake in the West, Hills in the East)....5 maps total, discounting weather/daytime.

Yes they're both Mechwarrior games.

Why do you guys insist on driving everyone away?

In name and IP it is...the resemblance pretty much ends there.
