I still like the dual LBX-10 with 4 Medium Lasers. Max engine. Endo and DHS. Short a couple points of armor in the legs but is a great build.

My personal -K2 runs 2x ERPPCs as primaries, and 2x LL when I need to cool down (Yeah, I don't remember how many DHS are crammed in there, but I can lose heat while firing dual large lasers.)

As for why would anyone take a -K2 over a Stalker:

Smaller target, quicker, more maneuverable, 140 degree torso twist (The Stalker-3F can twist 85, the rest only 60).

Edit: Added stuff because I am smart today...

your all WRONG. 4PPC 16DHS 300XL MAX armor. Is like a 4ppc stalker just 4 less DHS. Very effective. My favorite mech

How are you getting max armour with that? Swap the 300XL for a 280 XL and enjoy the extra heat sink and half ton of armour you can now field.

This is how I personally like to run my K2.

K2 is the first mech I've bought and still is one of my favorites. I find it a very versatile chasis that can outrun, outmaneuver or outgun almost anything.

I run it at the moment with 2 uac5, 2 med pulse lasers in arms and 2 med lasers in torso. 4 large laser build is also very effective as a second line suport. If you want a sniper, those arms are perfect for 2 ERPPC-s.

I run my K2 with 4xLL and do good damage with it. I'm not a huge fan of ballistics but I do enjoy the good torso twist, mobility, and heat dissipation from the K2 with those armaments.

It's a good all around platform...should I get tired of energy weapons, I can easily switch it up for something fresh.

I <3 the K2

I've gone back to dual AC/20s in my K2. Because it's powerful. I like powerful.

I've stuck with 2 ERPPCs and 2 MGs, with an XL300, 20 DHS and max armor.

It's nothing new or exciting, but it's solid as a rock. The 20 DHS keep it fairly cool so I can keep a good rate of fire with the ERPPCs. The MGs are a nice heat-free crit killer. And with the XL300 you get a lot of speed and maneuverability.

I run my catapult a little fragile and long range.
2ERPPC's in the arms. 2 medium lasers and a gaus with 2 tons of ammo.
You wont last long in a straight up fight but if you play long range it is very deadly.

4 ppc k2 or 4 large pulse, can run xl 300 in place of the std 225 but with tweak the 225 does 62 kph which is fine for me.

1.16 heat efficiency with 4 ppcs, like 1.35 with 4 large pulse.

This mech is very very fun to run i often can snipe battle 4 ppc stalkers and on a good day win, 1 shot any lights legs escpecially if they have been running around getting shot up. Very very satisfying when an atlas starts rushing you from 400 meters and doesnt make it to 200.

After the Jagermech will be out tomorrow, i changed my build from the classical boomcat.

I know run a 300XL, 4 LL, near max armor and as much heatsinks as i can fit.
It's not unique, but it's REALLY fast for a heavy, can Alpha a lot and has this amazing twist.

So far i like this build, dunno if even more then the boomcat.
