There were three separate parts each day for three days running. K&A was just one part each day and not the sum of the separate kill and assist parts which were actually the other two parts.

The overall leader was determined by every segment across all three days of the tournament, so in order to compete in the overall leaderboard you had to participate in each segment. I wasn't able to participate in the Kills segment and Assist segment on Friday, as I had a scheduling conflict with work, so I was only able to participate in 7 of the 9 segments.

Hope that clears things up, but looking back at it it might be more confusing then I intended :S

All the opt-ins without launches could have been in a 1000-way tie for last place with 0 points with 2500 opt-ins total? Which would be only marginally worse than my stage 1 first round effort... There were around 8000 in tournament #1.

PURELY as a matter of curiosity, I'd like to see the top 100 standings if you removed every player who disconnected more than twice during the challenge.

I'm sure other players would also be curious.

How did you get in the Top 3 for Kill+Assist on Friday if you didn't participate Friday?

He did participate on Friday, but only in the last segment of the day (which was the Kills + Assist segment), not the two previous segments.

Sure, but since I'm mid-pack at best, I would think everyone who played all 9 hours made over 10 million c-bills, since I did 15 million with premium and some Founder mech time. Certainly anyone who ever showed on a leader board.

I'm not bothering to partake in these until you balance the game. I'm not interested in competing in a game full of no skill cheese builds that everyone is abusing for contest rewards. Simply baiting for competition is not going to make your game more competitive. It's just going to make more people abuse whatever OP build they can for the rewards.

Congrats to the winners! This was a tough one to even be able to participate in all the challenges. Still feeling a bit jet lagged.

I'm a fairly new player and learned a lot watching some of the really awesome players out there. Came in 125th overall and have no idea if I should be ashamed or proud of myself.

I could see that if I was 1502 only in the first round, but I should have been a different placement the second round just by sheer fact that it would near impossible to have the EXACT same number of inactive pilots on both rounds. Since I was the same placement in both rounds, that leads me to believe that fewer opted in for this challenge.

That or the scoring was way off.

Well there's probably something pretty screwy with the scoring, or at least the scoring that we're being shown on the tournament page.

For example, the top 15 overall for each day are different people, in different orders with different scores, but it shows that I placed 105th overall for each day. I only missed the first part of the first day... how likely is it that I placed 105th for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as Overall over the course of the entire period, with the same score on each day as well as the overall over the entire tournament period?

Sorry Bubba, I misunderstood your original statement. I was thinking 1052 for first two STAGES of first round.

It's extremely hard to tell without a number of total participants, but I would venture to say that 125th is still pretty good.

In the previous "Be a Hero" tournament, there were 8026 people total that opted in. On the forums, there's a lot of "I only respect the top 25" or whatever, but if you think about it, even if you placed 80th, you're still in the top 1%!!! That's still pretty damn good.

*on a side note, I think that instead of only rewarding the top 1,3, or even 15 players, there should be rewards for falling within the top 1%, 2%, and 3% of total participants. Trying to be within the top 3 players is a fairly unrealistic goal amongst thousands of contestants. (not that the top 3 don't need to be recognized, but in the tournaments so far, you get nothing even if you're still in the top 1%)
