and how you can dumbfire LRMs.

You can do that? Been playing since closed beta and this is news to me ! How?

I still have all my old SNES manuals. Also the original NES Legend of Zelda world map / monster guide

Point the crosshair at where you want the missiles to go. The + crosshair for torso missiles, and the "o" crosshair for arm missiles. Fire LRMs. Note, must NOT have lock. Watch LRMs dumbfire at destination.

In theory you could simultaneously dumbfire two different locations.

You won't get any of the benefits of TAG and/or Artemis guidance though, and obviously your missiles can't track. Its mainly useful against shutdown mechs or mechs under ECM cover.

It's also possible to use for AMS scouting: dumbfire LRMs over a ridge, and if you see AMS going off, you know more or less where they are and how many they have. Of course, results will vary, and are heavily dependent on your opponents actually carrying AMS.

Great guide. Been playing since summer 2013, I felt like I needed to improve and this guide certainly taught me a few things! Thank you!

All I can say is: Thanks for the manual. This is what I need for the game. Now all I need to do is print it out, bind it, and then have it handy. :P

Hehe, yeah. Sometimes I fire up the client, mostly to check out new things and "improvements"...and hopefully, at one day, I think it's worth to keep it running. :excl:

Hi, is this still relevant for current state of the game?

All the fundamentals are. Particular comments on chassis and weapons are dated in some places, but for a "how MWO works," it's still very solid.

Thanks very much for putting this together, I loved the manuals from the original PC games.

Excellent guide, Even though you say its outdated on some things I still consider it a must read. Thank you for the time you took creating it.

If you're referring to my comment, let me clarify and say: I completely agree with you. There is simply no better guide to how the game actually works out there. Still absolutely essential reading for a new player who wants to take MWO at all seriously.
