I have made note of this and reported this in a support ticket already.
Does anyone else notice that while piloting the Founder Catapult that you are more susceptible to **** pit damage?
I can honestly pledge that when I look at my downed mech I see most of the damage splashed onto the nose. The tip or point added by the Founder Model adds to the hitbox of the cockpit.
Just like how the hitboxes on ravens is very inconsistent so is the hitbox on a founder Catapult.
Seriously... the Catapult already has a cockpit hitbox the size of a barn as a trade off for all its other advantages. I am okay with the current base hitbox.
I am very sure I can account 3 of my cockpit deaths in my Founder Catapult to purely the nose damage taken. I die more in my founder catapult to cockpits than any other variant. I run my catapults constantly. Thousands of matches played and I am still getting this problem.
I should not be taking cockpit damage and dying just because my nose is one meter out of cover and gets hit by a pair of gauss.

I get headshot fairly easy in my catapult. I'm not sure if the founders design contributes to that, but when you click on Head in the mech lab, the nose also highlights. I doubt this has anything to do with hitboxes (see: Atlas's head) but I do sometimes wonder why they're even connected... :S

Actually, the tip of the nose counts as center torso damage. I have had a team mate test this with me in game. All variants of the Cat, founders included have their head hit box in the center window and the 2 side windows to either side of that center window. This is why its so easy to headshot a Cat even from the side.

The head hitbox on the founder's cat isn't any bigger. People just preferentially target you because they're jealous of how awesome your mech looks. :3

Your sig makes this thread somewhat ironic

With the addition of new head types like different atlas heads and so on, I can see them making a few different attachments to add to your other Cats like we have with the Founders Cat's nose. I'd like to see a nose prop that is something like a Apache helicopter that has the machine gun under the nose

Is the enemy firing down on you? I have much greater success hitting Cat head hitbox when firing from a higher position.

Next time I will grab a screen shot.
To be honest I think it is just a problem with how the server applies damage. There are cases where people can get hit in the CT but receive damage to the Rear CT. For me I have actually seen where I die instantly with no flash or or effects on my vision and when the camera rotates around my Mech I plainly see damage over the nose of the Catapult.

There is still a bug where center damage taken will transfer to center torso rear. This I can confirm. It may even work the other way too. Maybe those few times that you seen the damage on he nose, you might have been cored center torso rear and it transferred to center torso front. You are right that the damage transfer still isn't working 100% right.

Or something like the dual laser chin turret the MW4 vulture had. That would be pretty sweet.
Also a hunchback head that isn't the size of a combine harvesters cockpit.
