So much sensor dependency. "WAHH I CAN'T PRESS R!" *tears*

ECM is too strong, but if it flat out ruins the game for you all I can really think of is that old cliche, L2P.

ECM's simplicity was born from the simplicity of LRM and SSRM use, all of which require little skill for incredible payoff.

Im curious as to what the tweaks will be. Honestly, id be happier if BAP, AMS, and the sensor modules had stronger counterplay with ECM.

OP displays great hubris and ego. For one ecm, is not a big problem at this point.. Maybe in 8 man, not sure, but OP displays a psychological symptom ive seen quite a few times in mw related forums.. essentially.

OMG> i tried.. and NO ONE listened.. so F u.. and i told you so.

The point is, even if you ARE right, such a stance is infantile on a public forum.

IN case you havent noticed, anything that decreases LRM and missile use in general is a good thing for this game since many , too many , just love that point and click nonsense.

Yeah, we've heard that [REDACTED] before, too. :)

Myself, I've become convinced that the folks at PGI are rather like politics here in America- two factions, dedicated to blindly opposing anything "the other guys" favor, taking turns running things. And of course whichever one's in charge at the moment spends most of their time trying to "undo" everything "the other guys" did last time they were in charge and all the while nobody wins, but the outsiders (in this case, we the players) get nothing but "it, and good and hard."

Reckon I'll check back 'round Thanksgiving and see what's left.

-shrug-

Thhis happened to StarTrekOnline which had some changes in his staff. PGI doesn't had any major changes in his staff so your idea is probably wrong.

ECM takes a minute to get used to, if you haven't gotten used to it then I'll assume you haven't spent more than a minute understanding it or are unwilling to accept it for numerous reasons of which I do understand. But it's certainly not a game breaker for those who can work around it, if you're willing to. (Some people refuse to change the way they play.. they want their Jenner w/ no ECM and they want them streaks workin 100% or same for LRMs.. or they don't want to use thermal to detect ECM.. or they feel like 1.5 tons is too little for too much.. I'm not saying you're invalid, I'm saying you refuse to work around it.. and that's okay, it's perfectly normal that you would want for things to be the way they were before)

Half of the complainers are carrying on about ECM being OP .A quick pass through the forums indicates that a damn near equal number of complainers are squawking like mashed owls that LRMs are OP.......you folks are going to have to find a way to get on the same page, can't have both. Half of ya are screaming its broken the game the other half screaming LRMs have broken the game and both sides crying that PGI isn't listening.............

Personally I think ECM needs some work, I would like to see it become one of the high dollar modules or a function of the command module. In addition its my opinion too many of the wrong class of mech are equipped with it. I believe those running Atlas ddc's are doing an excellent job of using it as intended were as way too many Rambo's are using it as a cloaking device for hunting purposes. As for the four and eight man 3L raven flocks, thats members of your community jerking you around, your fellow gamers !!!! Folks want PGI to develop and improve this game as well as BABYSIT this community.

I used to play daily and now I'm surprised if I launch MW:O more than once a week.

I only play maybe 2-4 times a month now usualy after a patch to see if anything is new it was 2-4 hours a day for almost a year with 3 accounts 2 founders and this free one it took up my time. But i do love the mechwarrior IP have since TT and MW1 way back then 1986 or so.This incarnation of Mechwarrior is just not right in many ways from past PC mechwarrior games/TT/BT lore/ETC.It has become what all did not want to happen a DPS arms race and a team GANK and FPS game.Thats why i dont see it becoming much more unless the devs do a total 360 on there game design. So now i play STO and MW4 on---> http://www.gameranger.com/ there are still some good times fun and good people playing over there.

it's a valid point, however..

Just because you can work around a broken mechanic doesn't make it less broken. (last time I'll say that here I promise)

Each of those above incarnations have their flaws, so PGI's incarnation is not a singular skew from the IP's issues.

There will be upcoming information from the Developers about ECM Balance. I am going to quote Bryan Ekman regarding ECM Balance:

Quote

We owe you a Command Chair post. I can't give you and ETA yet.

We are still analyzing data and examining how ECM impacts the game. We understand that some people love it, and some people hate it. That's exactly the polarizing type of content we want! However we believe it's not fully balanced yet, and are looking at ways to address community concerns, while maintaining the integrity of our vision for MWO.

An official feedback thread can be found here. Please post your constructive comments! No in thread debates please.

Bryan Linked to an Official Feedback thread, however it's not intended to be a back-and-forth debate thread (in that particular instance). In the case of this thread, there have been too many violations of the Code of Conduct, too many people insulting each other, too many posts that don't add anything other than a snarky argumentative blerb, and it's not helping anything, really.

I am going to close this thread, and request that people try to see what the Devs have to say about ECM balance when they make their Command Chair Posting before absolutely concluding that they refuse to do anything about it and don't care about us... Thanks for understanding.
