I can't find the thread where I originally heard about this idea, but after reading through http://mwomercs.com/...ted/page__st__0 I thought I'd make the argument again.

Often, someone is able to make a huge contribution to their team by distracting someone without actually doing much damage. At the end of the match, they get very little credit for it. I would like to second an idea that I saw here somewhere.

Basically, each match has some amount of credit available which is distributed at the end of the match based on factors of distraction. Basically, if you force the enemy to pay attention to you, you get credit. The post that I can't find thought it would be a good idea to do it based on time that you are "targetted" but this would possibly be unfair to those who mount ECM. I would suggest a similar concept, but expanding it to include not just time targetted but time that enemies spend shooting at you. Say there is a clean miss with a PPC that lands relatively close by, or if you force an enemy pilot to abandon his current target and shoot at you instead. Things like that. I have found that light Mechs often don't do that much damage, but their ability to force larget Mechs to abandon their positions and stop firing into an active fight to deal with the light Mech can be incredibly valuable to their team.

Actually, I think it would be a very awesome way to nerf ECM.
