I bougth Field Manual: 3085 and find the Outworld alliance are now Raven Alliance, and all stats are managed as clan.

Im a Outworld alliance follower and if a raven clan pact with the alliance, woulb be managed as state , not a clan.

As an OA and CSR fan from before they merged I am also very interested in seeing my favourite Clan and IS factions merged.
As of 3085 it is still very much a close alliance between two seperat factions but they become more closely integrated over time so we will just have to wait for Era Report 3145 to see what happens. It is listed under Coming Releases at the BT site but no ETA given.

There are small bits of information scattered around various source books but not enough to make them a worthwhile purchase for information about the Raven Alliance alone, although some like the Wars of Reaving are well worth buying anyway.

The only mention they get in the Dark Age novels is when Khan Sterling McKenna accompanies the Prince of the FedSuns to a major event on Earth (becoming the first Khan to step foot on Earth after agreeing it would not make the Snow Ravens the ilClan) and her flying skills and that of her escort as they fight along side FedSuns ships later on (I am being vague to avoid too many spoilers) however she barely gets any dialogue to herself.
There is very little mention of the FedSuns in later novels which concentrate on other areas such as the former FWL so we do not know how this Raven Alliance - FedSuns co-operation plays out. Not sure but think it was all in the Sword of Sedition and Fortress Republic novels, maybe someone can correct me. Very good books but once again very few mentions of the Ravens and little or none of OA.

An abomination! Why would peace-loving farmers decide to up and "ally" with some bloodthirsty clanner scum?

And yes, I know all about the Ghost Bear Dominion. Don't get me started! I'm only FRR because the Concordat isn't a faction choice

I think we could classify them as "NHS"(New-Hybrid-States)

I actually strongly suspect that it was a marriage of convenience with underlying threats. The Snow Ravens have a lot of war ships, it would be a shame if something bad were to happen to all of these nice, bucolic worlds you have here... (see where I'm going with this?)

I think that status is only temporary. Eventually I think the clan aspect will diminish, which is especially true in the case of the Ghost Bears which started as the Ghost Bear Occupation Zone, then Became the Ghost Bear Dominion and finally becomes the Rasalhague Dominion. Following the Jihad the bulk of the military forces for this state are IS in origin, though organized along clanner lines, the number of clan warriors present are actually significantly reduced after losses suffered by the Ghost Bear's touman during the Jihad. I think that over time, Ghost Bear influence will weaken and fade as the clanners become more heavily integrated into IS society, the last vestiges eventually being the military aspects I suspect the merchant and then scientist castes will become integrated much earlier.

As for the Ravens, I suspect something similar will happen. Alternatively, the OWA used to have considerable holdings Spinward (they used to be almost double their size), So I would be keen to see the Ravens get a separate state based on the recovery of those older worlds, and see the OWA get otherwise left alone. I liked the OWA's pacifist culture, and the decision to make them "just another clan" is kinda meh :)
