Oh, and if you think this has nothing to do with Artemis, that is fine, like I said, maybe I'm looking at this a little too literally
Considering the devs took valuable time to create the
Artemis countdown page and especially the static Comstar
terminal, you can bet you are not taking it too literal. In fact, might not be taking it literal enough, if that's possible! Thanks to past novels and background lore, Battletech fans love them some conspiracies. Here's a ferrofoil hat, sit down and have a cookie with the group.

My first personal guess is that it's the announcement is for the base chassis of the Chameleon.
Amazingly, the Chameleon was a unique mech waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in Battletech game history. Look up Battletech: Crescent Hawk's Inception, from 1988. That was such a fun game back in the day (yes, I just gave away my age). It was definitely a beginner's rpg, but it was still very fun. The rest of the game featured basic light mechs, such as the locust, wasp, jenner, etc. The ONLY medium mech in the game was . . . the Chameleon. And there was only one of them you could get, the one you trained with. If you could escape the incoming Kurita invasion it was yours. Otherwise, it was destroyed. Man, does that game bring back memories on the old IBM XT clone. I never did get my lead miniature from the order slip they included with it though.
Wait, where was I? Anyhoo, I doubt it will be the Chameleon, but it is obscure enough that it might be. Its the perfect training mech after all.

If it is indeed a new mech my money is on the ARC-5R the FRR flavor of Archer.
According to Sarna.net, you've got a ton of Archers featuring Artemis, inclusing the 5R:
ARC-2Rb
ARC-4M
ARC-6S
ARC-7S
ARC-8M
ARC-9M
ARC-9W
The last one, the ARC-9W, is a Word of Blake variant that features WoB's Void Signature System. However, I think the very earliest it could have been fielded was 3070 (more likely post-70), so that would put it out of use for MWO. Still, 7 total Artemis variants! If we do get to see the Archer, Flying Debris would have a field day with that design.
As of other Unseen, I'll break out in tears of joy for a Flying Debris Battlemaster, Warhammer, Rifleman, Shadow Hawk, or Griffin.
HOWEVER.
The only mech that will make me scream like a little girl, cause me to throw money at the computer screen, and make big puppydog geek eyes is a Flying Debris Marauder. Nothing else comes close. Well, maybe a Battlemaster. Or a Crusader. Or a Longbow . . .
