Ehm... right now i am piloting a heavy for the first time.
So i get thrown together with all the noobs.
And yeah, i do wander off there. A lot.
Everyone else tends to get into a slugfest, while my boomcat "sneaks" up from the side and kills them off.

Most of the time, they kinda think they can do it all...

However, the most common deaths are caused by the inability to run (Raven 3L sighting turns into instant death of a scout) and/or being a little too myopic in trying to find/chase a target but not realizing there are no teammates following you to do it.

The problem ultimately is that teammates that don't really know what they are doing, tend to not remember that having teammates around them will make them live longer. So, until they stop repeating this trend, they'll keep getting killed.

I do this, but its because i do not want to sit 300m from where my team started and wait to get surrounded and destroyed. I find that when people follow me and focus my targets we win handily. when i try to follow others they always choose bad targets, like the commando or spider thats running around and not the slow lrm boat stalker just sitting there hammering us.

I also do not die in the first 15 seconds of a match, and when i do die i let my team know where and how many.

Now that's just inconsiderate posting this remark since they can neither read it to take offense nor write a scathing response to defend their position...

Un-fun fact: 95% of MWO players are elitist jerks.

The same reason all you "non noobs" go to E6 on Alpine every fracking match!

FUN FACT: 95% of MWO Pugs think they are to good for a unit, and whine when a team stomps them in the ground.

Being good at something does not make you an "elitist jerk". Neither does making fun of people who do dumb things.

Or, maybe to avoid holier-than-thou individuals such as yourself?

Agree and Disagree.

Agreed on being good and being good with team mates does not make you a jerk.

Disagree, as these pugs keep doing it over and over again without learning that it's not working out for them, so at best it's free kills and comedy.

Holier than thou? Seems the truth does hurt, even though it's a joke to begin with.

Seriously, find a unit, talk to the people in said unit, and get better at this game.

Till then, stop being a solo elitist who thinks they are better than a premade.

Wow, way to help new players play better.

I think I'll run off on my own more often. My teamwork does not seem to be appreciated much as I am a Pug.

Of course, you wouldn't actually know whether or not I've been with a unit, would you?
Maybe I like to blow things up instead playing "Army of the 31st century" with a bunch of self-aggrandizing golds who fancy themselves better than the vast majority of the player base.

But maybe, you're just making my point for me.

Perhaps it does. But, I don't think it's something players should be obligated to do. After a while, you start to get Dillahunty syndrome where you're constantly dealing with the same **** time and time again. You'd think playing together as a team, is given, being that it's a team base game. Yes, I would have liked ELO to alleviate this somewhat.

Sorry to say this, but if you're seeing lots of bad players... It's partially thanks to ELO.

I haven't seen a noob in a game in weeks. Not one person I could easily call out as a terrible player. If my games have no bad players in them at all... I'm guessing middling-lower ELOs are jam-packed with them. Particularly if it starts out a new player at "average" level.

Every match there is always someone who decides that they are going to go Rambo and wander off by themselves to single handedly smite the enemy. Rambo is ALWAYS the first to die. Then they say "Oh, thanks for the help team. You guys suck". Uh-huh. Says the dead noob.
Why do you do this?? WHY??? WHY???

Because I learned to play by watching MWO tournament streams.

So why are you here then?

And you are making my point on why I detest pugs.

New players are different as they haven't been molded, but pugs like you are what make us premades detest dropping with you.

I have always wanted to know this. The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that it's a new player that just wants to spectate.

/shrug

I think a better question to ask is why are we still stuck with them now that we have Matchmaking.

Maybe you suck.
Just having some fun.

This comment tells me you HAVEN'T been with a unit. You're just parroting back what everyone else who is afraid of the "big mean groups" says.

Well sometimes I am that guy, but it is never intentional. What normally happens is I am leading the pack and assume people are still following me only to find out to late that six or seven of them took a left at Albuquerque while I continued to my doom.
